What you need to get started

To prepare for Marketing Pro, start with the basics:

  • Verify company profile information: Confirm that all information in your company profile is accurate, as this will automatically populate the Company Details settings in Marketing Pro.

  • Verify business hours: Confirm that your business hours are correct and up to date.

  • Review business units: Check that your business units align with your audience segmentation needs. Marketing Pro allows you to target customers by business unit, so it’s important that these fit your marketing strategies.

  • Review job types and tags: Clean up your job types and tags to effectively target specific customer segments.

  • Review custom fields: Add any custom fields you want to use as merge tags and filters when creating campaigns and audiences.

  • Train CSRs: Ensure your customer service representatives (CSRs) are trained to set customer notification preferences for marketing content.

Required permissions

The Can access ServiceTitan Marketing Pro module permission is required to set up and use Marketing Pro. To have this permission enabled, please contact the account administrator on your team.

Quick start guide

After you purchase Marketing Pro and it’s configured for your account, sign in to ServiceTitan to get started.

Step 1: Configure your Marketing settings

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Marketing .

  2. Review your company’s information and then click Confirm Information.

  3. On the Marketing Pro Settings screen that opens, go through each of the steps and configure your settings.

  4. When finished, click Save and Continue to return to the Welcome to Marketing Pro screen.

Step 2: Launch Campaigns

Each Autopilot campaign includes a unique audience, features your logo on the content, and is assigned a unique tracking number. To launch campaigns:

  1. Click Launch.

  2. Review the Autopilot campaigns selected for your business and make sure your logo appears correctly on the preview cards.

  3. (Optional) The campaigns provided are ready to launch as-is. If needed, click View/Edit to view more details about the campaign and make changes.

  4. Deselect any campaigns you don’t want to launch yet.

  5. When finished, click Launch to launch your selected campaigns.

Your first marketing campaigns have launched. You can view their status on the Pro Campaigns screen that opens. For more, see Manage Marketing Campaigns.

What you need to get started

Your account needs to have a Marketing Pro package with Ads enabled to use Ads Optimizer. If you’re unsure about this, please reach out to your Pro Account Manager (PAM).

After you’ve added a Marketing Pro package with Ads to your account, you can enable Ads Optimizer directly in ServiceTitan. If you’re interested in our prepay-and-save packages, please reach out to your PAM or request a demo on our Pro Products page.

Advanced setup

Ads Optimizer requires Ads Measurement to be fully configured. This includes the Google Ads integration, Google Analytics integration, and Dynamic Call Tracking using DNI.

How it works

Ads Optimizer improves your marketing campaigns by:

  • Driving awareness to the teams who manage your ads when capacity is either too high or too low.

  • Sending revenue and audience signals into Google Ads, which significantly boosts your digital ad performance.

  • Unlocking value-based bid strategies in Google Ads.

  • (Optional) Automating experimentation with new value-based bidding strategies (Target Return on Ad Spending (ROAS) and Maximize Conversation Value) when you run bid experiments.

  • (Optional) Sending the predicted job value for new job bookings to Google Ads to enhance Google Ads Smart Bidding. This can improve your return on investment (ROI) when you use per-campaign Job Value Prediction.

Key workflows

  • Revenue and Audience Import: After you enable Ads Optimizer, Revenue Import is activated automatically. Ads Optimizer allows you to import revenue from jobs booked in ServiceTitan as a Conversion Value in Google Ads. Your customer list is also sent to Google Ads every day to enrich Google’s data and improve its targeting accuracy.

  • Bid Experiments: To get the most out of Revenue Import, your Google Ads should use value-based bidding. Ads Optimizer’s experiment feature automatically tests value-based bid strategies in your ads account, dialing in your bid strategy to be more effective.

  • Capacity Awareness: Set capacity alerts for campaign business units (BUs). Notify your team when the job board is too empty or too full, allowing you to save money when it’s busy or scale up budgets when it’s slow.

  • Job Value Predictor: After you book a new job, Ads Optimizer can send the predicted job value to Google Ads. This enhances Google Ads operations and improves your Return on Investment (ROI).

  • Campaign Management: Use the Settings tab in Ads Optimizer to configure and manage your Google Ads campaigns. Then track and measure their effectiveness on the Performance tab. This helps you optimize your ads for improved results with less effort.

  • Optimizer Impact: Enter your performance baseline to gain more confidence in the benefits of Ads Optimizer, and add your profit margin for a more accurate calculation of wasted spend. You can then see the lift Ads Optimizer is creating for your ads based on these inputs.
