Use this guide to compare common workflows from ServiceTitan's legacy mobile app, ServiceTitan Mobile, with the new Field Mobile App. This helps you find your way around the new app so you can efficiently work with it.

General layout

Overview and jobs

The Overview, All Jobs, and History tabs have been renamed and are now grouped into a main screen called Home, where you can tap View all to see everything.

Before (legacy app)

  • Overview: Current job, Scorecard, and Content Portal.

  • All Jobs: Current, next, and previous jobs.

  • History: Previously completed and canceled jobs.

After (new app)

Tap View all to see all your jobs in the following tabs:

  • Today: Current job and any other jobs for today.

  • Upcoming: Jobs scheduled for tomorrow and other future jobs. Also includes jobs in the past that are still in Scheduled status. Does not include jobs in Working or Dispatched status.

  • Previous: Previously completed and canceled jobs.

  • Paused: Paused and on-hold jobs.

    Note: The Show all assigned/dispatched/working appointments permission is required to see everything in the Today and Upcoming tabs. The View History Tab permission is required to see and use the Previous tab. Please contact the account administrator on your team. Job booking

If you have the Book job permission, you can book a job for yourself. In the new app, you'll find this in the Menu A simple icon in the shape of four squares that form a larger square. tab.

Before (legacy app)

Book a job

On the main dashboard, tap Book Job or Profile > Book Job.

Timekeeping

Before, clocking in and out was a manual process. Now, timesheets can be added manually or automatically, depending on your company's account configuration.

Tracking hours

Before (legacy app - manual timekeeping)

On any screen, tap Profile > Clock In or Clock Out.

Method 1: Enter time from the navigation bar

Current job details for HVAC maintenance, including time and location information.

  1. On the main screen, tap Time A simple icon in the shape of a clock. > Add Timesheet (iOS) or Clock (Android).

  2. Enter the Timesheet Activity, Date, Start Time, and End Time.

    Note: Additional fields, such as Project Labels and others, may be required based on your company's setup and which Timesheet Activity you selected.

  3. Tap Save.

Method 2: Enter time from a job

Scheduled HVAC maintenance job details with assigned technicians and dispatch options.

  1. Open the job and tap the Clock A simple icon in the shape of a clock. > Add Timesheet (iOS) or Clock (Android).

  2. Enter the Timesheet Activity, Date, Start Time, and End Time.

    Note: Job and Project, if applicable, are automatically associated. Labor Type is automatically selected based on your default labor type from the office.

  3. Tap Save.

After (new app - automatic and continuous timekeeping)

Automatic Timekeeping

If your company has configured Automatic Timekeeping, timesheets are automatically created when you open a job and tap Dispatch and Arrive. Start and end times are based on when you tap an action:

  • Dispatch: A Driving timesheet is created.

  • Arrive: The Driving timesheet ends and a new Working timesheet is created.

  • Close Out: After you tap Pause Appointment , Hold and Reschedule Appointment A simple icon in the shape of a clock., Schedule Another Appointment A simple icon in the shape of a calendar with a small square inside of it., or Complete Job/Appointment A simple icon in the shape of a circle with a checkmark inside of it., the Working timesheet ends.

Continuous Timekeeping

If your company has configured Continuous Timekeeping, it works the same as Automatic Timekeeping but also includes quick actions for common scenarios—like Meal Break, Review Schedule, and Waiting on Next Job—and custom timesheet activities, if your office configures them—for things like Holiday, Jury Duty, or Bereavement. This eliminates the need to enter manual timesheets for non-job or other tasks.

Taking meal breaks

Before (legacy app - manual meal break)

On any screen, tap Profile > Start Meal Break or End Meal Break.

Method 1: Enter time from the navigation bar

Automatic Timekeeping

If your company has configured Automatic Timekeeping:

  1. Open the job and tap Close Out > Pause Appointment .

  2. Add a manual timesheet entry for your non-job work. Make sure to enter both a start and end time.

  3. Open the job and tap Dispatch > Arrive again to create timesheets for your remaining work.

Continuous Timekeeping

If your company has configured Continuous Timekeeping:

  1. To start your meal break, open the job and tap Time A simple icon in the shape of a clock. > Meal Break.

  2. To end your meal break, open the job and tap the next activity you need to start, for example Working.

Job actions

When you tap a job to open it, many actions are now listed more intuitively and in different tabs.

Before (legacy app)

  • Arrive, dispatch, and closeout: Open the job and tap the Job A simple icon in the shape of a wrench. tab to Dispatch or Arrive at the top of the screen. On any tab, tap Close Out in the left side menu.

  • Equipment: Open the job and manage equipment from the left side menu in History A simple icon in the shape of a pin drop. > Existing Equipment.

  • Forms: Open the job and manage forms from the Forms A simple icon in the shape of a document with a magnifying glass inside of it. tab in the left side menu.

  • Estimates: Open the job and manage estimates from the Estimates A simple icon in the shape of a clipboard. tab in the left side menu.

  • Invoices: Open the job and manage invoices from the Invoice tab in the left side menu.

  • Notes: Open the job and add a note from the Notes A simple icon in the shape of a pencil. tab in the left side menu.

  • Media: Open the job and upload or capture media from the Media A simple icon in the shape of a camera. tab in the left side menu.

After (new app)

  • Arrive, dispatch, and closeout: Open the job and tap Dispatch, Arrive, or Close Out on almost any tab at the bottom of the screen.

  • Equipment: Open the job and manage equipment on the Equipment tab. On almost every tab at the bottom of the screen, you can also go to Add > Equipment .

  • Forms: Open the job and manage forms on the Forms tab.

  • Estimates (Residential) or Proposals (Commercial): Open the job and manage estimates on the Estimates/Proposals tab. On the Estimates tab, you can Add estimates from template and Add custom estimate. On every tab at the bottom of the screen, you can also go to Add > Add Estimates From Template A simple icon in the shape of a ballot form..

  • Invoice (Residential) or Work Summary (Commercial): Open the job and manage invoices on the Invoice/Work Summary tab. On almost every tab at the bottom of the screen, you can also go to Add > Invoice Item .

  • Notes: Open the job and add a note on any tab at the bottom of the screen in Add > Note . View pinned notes on the Job tab under Pinned Notes.

    Note: The Set notes on customer, location, or job permission is required to add notes in the Field Mobile App. Please contact the account administrator on your team.

  • Media: Open the job and upload or capture media on any tab at the bottom of the screen in Add .

Estimates/Proposals

Comparison of legacy and new app interfaces for managing estimates and proposals.

Before (legacy app)

  • View, create, and send estimates: Open the job and tap the Estimates A simple icon in the shape of a clipboard. tab to View, Create, and Send estimates.

  • Create recommended and grouped item estimates: Open the job and tap the Estimates A simple icon in the shape of a clipboard. tab to create a Recommended or Grouped Item estimate.

  • Follow up on estimates: On the main dashboard, tap the Follow Up tab to follow up on estimates.

  • Sell previous estimates: Open the job and tap History A simple icon in the shape of a pin drop. > Previous Estimates to Sell Previous estimates.

After (new app)

  • View, create, and send estimates: Open the job and tap the Estimates (Residential) or Proposals (Commercial) tab to view, create, and send estimates. Tap From Template to create an estimate from a template.

  • Mark an estimate as Recommended: Open the job and tap the Estimates (Residential) or Proposals (Commercial) tab to select Recommended on an estimate.

  • Add item groups to an estimate: Open the job and tap the Estimates (Residential) or Proposals (Commercial) tab. Tap the estimate to open it > tap Edit next to Items > tap the item to open it > tap + Sub-Items to find and add sub-items to the item. This creates an item group.

  • Follow up on estimates: Open the Field Mobile App and tap Menu A simple icon in the shape of four squares that form a larger square. > Opportunities. Open the opportunity to review its estimates then Call, Email, or Message the customer.

  • Sell previous estimates: Open the Field Mobile App and tap Menu A simple icon in the shape of four squares that form a larger square. > Opportunities. Open the opportunity, tap the Estimates tab at the bottom, then turn on the Sold toggle. Confirm with your office if they'll be booking a new job if they want you to book a new job.

Equipment

Comparison of legacy and new app interfaces for managing equipment details.

See the sections below for a comparison:

Before (legacy app)

  • Add, replace, and service equipment: Open the job and tap History A simple icon in the shape of a pin drop. > Existing Equipment to Add, Replace, or mark equipment as Serviced.

  • View and attach equipment to memberships: Open the job and tap the Invoice tab to View Equipment Covered by Memberships or Attach Equipment to a Membership.

  • Add, replace, and service equipment: Open the job and tap the Equipment tab to Replace, Remove, or mark equipment as Serviced. Tap Add > Equipment at the bottom of the screen on any tab to add equipment.

  • View and attach equipment to memberships: Open the job and tap the Invoice > Add > Invoice Item to attach currently installed equipment to memberships at the point of sale.

Purchase Orders

Some purchase order (PO) workflows aren't available yet in the Field Mobile App.

  • Add, send, edit, and receive POs: Open the job and tap the Job A simple icon in the shape of a wrench. tab or Invoice tab to Add, Send, Edit, or Receive POs.

  • Cancel a PO and create a return: Open the job and tap the Job A simple icon in the shape of a wrench. tab or Invoice tab to Cancel a PO or create a Return.

  • Add, send, edit, and receive POs: Open the job, tap the Job tab, and scroll to the More section to Add, Send, Edit, or Receive POs. You can also tap Add > Purchase Order A simple icon in the shape of a receipt. at the bottom of the screen on any tab except the Estimates tab.

  • Cancel a PO and create a return: This feature isn't currently available in the new Field Mobile App.

Media

The workflows for capturing and uploading media are essentially the same with a few minor differences.

  • Capture and upload media: Open the job and tap Media A simple icon in the shape of a camera. to take a photo, record a video, or upload a photo or video.
