Overview
If your account is configured for it, Flexible Timekeeping's Continuous Timekeeping feature tracks your job actions as you work. When you dispatch, arrive, take meal breaks, close out, or wait for your next job, timesheet entries are automatically created for you. Switch between activities to reduce manual entry and keep your time accurate throughout the day.

Things to know
There isn't a specific Clock In button. Instead, you're considered clocked in as long as you have an ongoing timesheet activity, whether it's from tapping Dispatch, Arrive, or an action on the Time screen like:
Meal Break: Starts a Meal Break timesheet entry.
Review Schedule: Logs time spent reviewing schedules or navigating the app.
Waiting on Next Job: Logs time when waiting for the next appointment.
Note: The categories you see may differ based on your company's configuration.
Depending on your company's setup, tapping an action either logs your time automatically or prompts you to choose an activity:
Single Activity Mapping: Tapping an action automatically clocks you into the timesheet entry. The previous activity closes without you needing to clock out, given there are no required fields pending on your previous activity.
Multiple Activity Mapping: Tapping an action opens a list of activities. For example, after you tap Meal Break, you might need to choose between Pre-job Meal, On-job Meal, or Non-job Meal. Select the option that matches your situation. This automatically clocks you into the timesheet entry.
Note: Activities differ based on your company's setup.
When you're clocked into an ongoing activity, tapping another activity clocks you out of the ongoing activity and starts the next activity.
If there are overlap issues, you'll see an overlap error that asks you to resolve them.
You can clock in to an activity without completing all the required fields. You'll be prompted to complete the required fields before switching to another activity. The red Edit button and a grayed-out Clock Out button indicate the timesheet is incomplete due to missing fields. Tap Edit to fill out the required fields, then you can clock out.

Best practices
If the job number—and project number, if applicable—is required for your timesheet activity, clock into it from the job instead of the navigation bar. This pre-populates the job and project number for accurate tracking.
Complete the required fields for a timesheet activity before dispatching or arriving, otherwise Driving and Working timesheets will not be created or will be created as a draft. This depends on your office configuration.
If needed, you can still manually add and edit timesheets. If you already created a manual timesheet with start and end times that overlaps with the time from your Dispatch and Arrive actions, your manual timesheet will be adjusted. Because of this, we recommend that you dispatch, arrive, switch activities, and clock out in real time as these activities are happening, to ensure timesheet accuracy.
Note: The Allow to create manual timesheets and Allow to edit timesheets permissions are required to use these features. Please contact the account administrator on your team.
Pre-select your next activity after job closeout by tapping Next Activity on the Closeout screen.

Step 1: Clock in and take a meal break with Continuous Timekeeping in the Field Mobile App
Clock in from a job
If your activity needs to be associated with a job—such as dispatching, arriving, or taking a meal break while on the job—clock into the activity from the job. This pre-populates the job number—and project number, if applicable—on the timesheet for accurate tracking.
To clock in from a job:
Open the job and tap Dispatch. This clocks you in by automatically creating a Driving timesheet.
If your company is using multiple activity mapping, choose the appropriate activity.

When you arrive at the job site, tap Arrive. This clocks you out of the Driving timesheet and into a new Working timesheet. If your company is using multiple activity mapping, choose the appropriate activity.

When you need to take a meal break, tap Time
> Meal Break. This clocks you out of the Working timesheet and into a new Meal Break timesheet. If your company is using multiple activity mapping, choose the appropriate activity.
Note: If your account is configured for it and you have the required permission, use meal break reminders to take your meal breaks. For more, see Use meal break reminders in the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App.
Clock in from the navigation bar
If your activity does not need to be associated with a job—such as a non-job event, like Training, Shop Time, or Supply House Run—clock in to the activity from the navigation bar.
Note: Non-job events must first be configured by your office in Continuous Timekeeping settings before you can select them in the Field Mobile App.
To clock in from the navigation bar:
Tap Time
in the navigation bar.Find the non-job event you need to clock into and tap it.

Note: The categories you see may differ based on your company's configuration.
Tip: Tap Expand
to expand a category and view all timesheet activities. Tap Collapse
to collapse the category.
Step 2: Switch to another activity with Continuous Timekeeping in the Field Mobile App
If you're currently clocked in to an activity—like Meal Break—and need to switch to another activity—like Working:
Tap Time
in the job or navigation bar. Note: If your activity needs to be associated with a job, clock in to it from the job. This pre-populates the job number—and project number, if applicable—on the timesheet for accurate tracking.
On the Current Activity tab that opens, your ongoing activity is shown at the top. Tap a new activity to end your current timesheet and start a new timesheet.
Note: Depending on your office's configuration, additional mapped activities may appear. Select the appropriate activity.
If your current timesheet is complete, it automatically ends and a new one starts.
If it's incomplete, you're prompted to resolve the issue before switching activities. Fill in the required fields to resolve the issue. When finished, tap Save and Switch to start the new timesheet.
Note: The required fields may differ based on the activity you select and your company's configuration.
Step 3: Clock out with Continuous Timekeeping in the Field Mobile App
When you tap Close Out and then tap Pause Appointment
, Hold and Reschedule Appointment
, Schedule Another Appointment
, or Complete Job/Appointment
, any timesheet activity that you were previously clocked into ends.
Before finalizing a close out action, you'll be prompted to select your next activity. We recommend that you do this so your timekeeping is as up-to-date as possible.

To clock out of an activity that isn't related to a job close out option:
Tap Time
> Current Activity > Clock Out.
Tap Clock Out to confirm you want to clock out.
Note: You can tap Do not show again to skip this prompt in the future.

If your current timesheet is complete, it automatically ends.
If it's incomplete, fill in the required fields and tap Save and Clock Out.
