Use meal break reminders in the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App

Overview

With Flexible Timekeeping, you're reminded to take a meal break after you've tracked almost six hours worked in the Field Mobile App without a break. This ensures you're reminded to stop working and take a meal break.

  • The Field Mobile App is optimized for iOS, iPadOS, and Android phones and tablets. For more, see System requirements and mobile app information.

  • If you're using the Field Mobile App and need support, please contact (through the office) or reach out directly to support@servicetitan.com.

  • Account configuration and office setup are required to use this feature. Please contact your office for details.

  • The Edit Timesheet permission must be turned off to use this feature. Please contact the account administrator on your team.

Things to know

  • If your push notifications are disabled for the Field Mobile App, you won't get an alert on your lock screen, but you'll still see a reminder when you open the app. A coffee machine and cup with a message about taking a meal break.

Best practices

  • Enable push notifications for the Field Mobile App in your device settings. This allows you to receive meal break alerts when you're not actively using the app or your phone is locked. Notification on a phone screen reminding to take a meal break from work.

Use meal break reminders to take breaks in the Field Mobile App

  1. When you get a meal break reminder, tap Start Meal Break in the Field Mobile App. A prompt encouraging users to take a meal break and pause work activities.

  2. If your office uses Manual or Automatic Timekeeping:

    1. Enter the details for your meal break timesheet.

    2. When finished, tap Add EntryForm for adding a timesheet entry with fields for date, time, and activity.

      Note: If you're manually creating a timesheet for the day, such as at the end of your day, and you don't have a meal break created within six hours of working, you'll receive a meal break reminder to enter a meal break timesheet.

  3. If your office uses Continuous Timekeeping, you're automatically clocked into your meal break activity. Current activity shows a meal break starting soon with options to edit or clock out.

Use meal break reminders to correct timesheets in the Field Mobile App

If it's time for a meal break but your current timesheet is missing required details:

  1. Tap Edit Current ActivityPrompt to edit current activity before starting a meal break on a mobile app.

  2. Fill out all required fields then tap Save and Start Meal BreakUser interface for editing a timesheet with required fields highlighted for completion.

  3. If your office uses Manual or Automatic Timekeeping:

    1. Enter the details for your meal break timesheet.

    2. When finished, tap Add Entry.

      Note: If you're manually creating a timesheet for the day, such as at the end of your day, and you don't have a meal break created within six hours of working, you'll receive a meal break reminder to enter a meal break timesheet.

  4. If your office uses Continuous Timekeeping, you're automatically clocked into your meal break activity.
