Create an estimate for Commercial opportunities

Overview

When an opportunity for a Commercial project is identified, create an estimate from the job or Call Booking screen before you begin building an estimate. Below you can find two ways to create an estimate for Commercial opportunities.


Who uses this feature

  • Administrators, office employees, and technicians

  • Primarily for Commercial Service and Replacement and Commercial Construction business types

Feature configuration

  • Account configuration is required to use this feature. Please contact Technical Support for details.

  • Permission is required to use this feature. Please contact the account administrator on your team.

Create an estimate from a job

You can create an estimate from a job if a technician needs to go out in the field and assess the needs of the job or project:

  1. Book a job.

  2. After the job is booked, the technician assigned to the job can go to the job site and collect job details such as photos, forms, and notes. For more on how to add notes and images to a job see:

  3. After the job is complete, in the office, use the information collected by the technician to create an estimate from the:        

    1. Job invoice                

      1. Search for and open the job invoice for which you want to create an estimate.

      2. From the side menu, click Add an estimate. Build Estimate(s) opens. Invoice details for job #2884526, including payment terms and customer information.You're now ready to build an estimate from this invoice.

    2. Job record                

      1. Search for and open the job record for which you want to create an estimate.

      2. Click the Job Actions dropdown and select Add an Estimate. Build Estimate(s) opens. Dropdown menu showing job actions with 'Add an Estimate' highlighted for selection.You're now ready to build an estimate from this job.

Create an alert for when the estimate is sold

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Settings.

  2. In the side panel, click Integrations > Alerts.

  3. In the Alerts section that opens, click Add to add a new alert.

  4. In the Add alert window that opens, enter the alert details:

    1. Type: Select the Sold Estimate alert.

    2. Delivery Method: Select the channel by which you want to send the alert.        

      Note: Both Email and SMS method is selected by default.

    3. Recipients: Enter the name of the users who you want to get the alert.

    4. Business Unit: Optional. However, if you create your construction opportunities under a specific business unit such as a construction business unit, you can list them in the business unit field to only be notified for sold estimates from that business unit.

  5. When finished, click Save.
