What is the process for adding a new recurring service to a membership type and customer membership?

Problem

Users need to add a new recurring service to a membership type and also want to add them to active customer memberships.

Note: Adding recurring service type to membership type will not apply the recurring service type to already active customer memberships. You need to add the recurring service type directly to the customer membership.

Solution

By following these steps, you will add a recurring service type to a membership type, and active customer membership.

Add recurring service to a membership type

  1. Go to Settings > Invoicing > Membership Types.

  2. Edit the membership type in question.

  3. Click on Reccurences.

  4. Select Add Recurring Service.

  5. Select Add Existing Service if you have the recurring service type already created or Create New Service if you want to create one from scratch. For more, see Create and edit recurring service types.

  6. Save changes.

This step will add the recurring service type to all memberships that will be sold to customers in the future. To add the recurring service type to existing active customer memberships follow to the next steps.

Add recurring service to an active customer membership

  1. Go to the customer profile.

  2. Find and click on the active membership under Memberships section.

  3. Edit the membership.

  4. Under Recurring Services Click Add Recurring Service.

  5. Select the recurring service you want to add.

  6. Save changes.
