What is causing recurring services not to be added when renewing a membership and how can it be resolved?

Problem

When renewing a customer membership, the recurring services are not being added. This happens if the Copy recurring services from expiring memberships instead of membership type feature configuration is enabled. This setting copies the setup of the original membership type sold to the customer, including any manually added recurring services.

Solution

To resolve this issue, check that the missing recurring services are configured to be added automatically for that membership type. If the configuration is correct, request to have the Copy recurring services from expiring memberships instead of membership type feature configuration turned off.

Check the Membership Type configuration

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click SettingsA simple icon representing a settings gear. > Invoicing > Membership Types.

  2. Find the membership type in question and click Edit.

  3. Click Recurrences > Add Recurring Services.

  4. Check if the missing recurring service is selected. If not, add the recurring service so that it is automatically added the next time you sell or renew this membership type.

Request to have your configuration updated

  1. Request to have the Copy recurring services from expiring memberships instead of membership type feature configuration turned off. To do this, you can:        

    1. Contact Technical Support for assistance.

    2. Request the feature be turned off in ServiceTitan. To do this:                

      1. Go to the navigation bar and click SettingsA simple icon representing a settings gear. > Your Account > Feature Configurations.

      2. Find the Copy recurring services from expiring memberships instead of membership type in the list.

      3. Click Request Removal.

      4. Click Continue to confirm that you want to turn off this feature configuration.

  2. After the feature configuration is turned off, try renewing the customer membership again to see if the recurring services are now added as expected.

  3. If the recurring services are added successfully, the issue is resolved. If not, double-check the membership type setup to ensure that the recurring services are configured to be added upon renewal.
