Overview

Daily logs include a summary of notes, issues, materials, equipment, site safety, and weather conditions for construction projects. Send daily logs to the office to facilitate timely requests for information (RFIs), change orders, mitigation efforts, and enhance communication.

Things to know

  • You must be online to capture and submit daily logs in the Field Mobile App.

Best practices

  • Work with your office to establish a consistent, repeatable, and scalable process for daily reporting across projects.

  • Update your log in real time throughout the day to avoid recency bias. You can save your log and then update it throughout the day.

Use cases

  • Provide real-time visibility into labor, material, and equipment usage tied to specific job phases and cost codes.

  • Create an auditable, timestamped record of daily work for legal protection, dispute resolution, and safety compliance.

View, edit, and send your daily log for a project in the Field Mobile App

  1. Open your current job and tap the project link at the top. Job details for ductwork at Sunset Plaza High School, scheduled for June 29.

  2. On the project that opens, scroll to the Daily Logs section and tap Expand Job details for Sunset Plaza High School, including dispatch status and document sections.

  3. On your daily log that opens, enter the following information:

    • Project Health: Off Track, At Risk, or On Track.

    • Notes: The work you performed.

    • Issues: Yes or No.

    • Materials: The materials you used or received.

    • Equipment: The equipment or assets you used or received.

    • Safety: The safety checks you made and any incidents that occurred.

    • Observed Weather: The weather conditions at the job site.

    • Attachments: Relevant photos, videos, or files.

    • Your signature Daily log entry detailing project health, issues, materials, and safety measures observed.

      Tip: If you need to access a previous log, tap the Calendar icon at the top and select the date. If the log hasn't been approved yet, you can make changes if needed.

  4. If you need to include additional photos, videos, or files, tap Add under Attachments and upload any relevant media. Options to add attachments for reporting weather conditions in a user interface.

After your log is approved by the office, it's locked from editing and shows an Approved at the top.
