Add media to a job with mobile phone capture in the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App

Prev Next

Coming soon to Field Mobile App Release 22.0

This release rolls out in phases. Improvements will appear first, followed by new features, over a two-week period. You may not see all changes at once.

To check your release version, open the Field Mobile App and go to Menu > About . For steps on how to manually update your release version, see Update the Field Mobile App.

Not all situations make it easy to use your primary device's camera — think attics, crawl spaces, or tight equipment rooms. Phone Capture lets you send yourself a secure link to snap or upload photos from your phone instead. Photos you add are automatically attached to the job you're working on.

Who uses this feature

  • Technicians

  • Applies to all business types

  • Applies to all trades

Feature configuration

  • The Field Mobile App is optimized for iOS, iPadOS, and Android phones and tablets. For more, see System requirements and mobile app information.

  • If you're using the Field Mobile App and need support, please contact (through the office) or reach out directly to support@servicetitan.com.

  • The Enable Phone Capture [VERIFY (MEDIUM CONFIDENCE) — permission name unconfirmed; verify in Settings] permission is required to use this feature. Please contact the account administrator on your team.

Things to know

  • Technicians must have a mobile phone number assigned to them in Settings A simple icon representing a settings gear. > People > Technicians. The Phone Capture link is sent by text message to that number.

  • Photos and videos added with Phone Capture are added to the job, the same as any other upload.

  • Media can be added to completed jobs where no media previously existed. For more on completed-job workflows, see Add estimates, notes, and more to completed jobs in the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App.

Best practices

  • Use Phone Capture when your primary device's camera is hard to access — like attics, crawl spaces, or tight equipment rooms — instead of stopping work to switch devices.

  • If you don't have a company-issued phone, Phone Capture lets you use your personal phone to add extra job photos without installing or logging into the Field Mobile App on that device.
