Overview

Use the Field Mobile App to capture and upload clear before and after photos and videos at the service location, including all relevant areas. You can also upload files and edit photos to highlight important details. This ensures transparency, showcases the work done, and provides a visual record for both customers and the office.

Tip: If the video doesn't play in full screen, tap More then Fit Screen .

Feature configuration

Things to know

  • Select your preferred image and video upload quality by tapping Menu > Media Upload Quality and selecting Standard Quality or High Quality.

  • Photos taken through the Field Mobile App are not geotagged.

  • Attachments uploaded to a form are automatically added to the job.

  • Attachments uploaded to a job are automatically added to the project it's associated with, if applicable.

  • Media can be added to completed jobs where no media previously existed. For more on completed-job workflows, see Add estimates, notes, and more to completed jobs in the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App.

  • If your office has enabled the permission for it, you can add attachments to completed jobs. Otherwise, you can only add attachments while working on a job.

    Note: The Allow uploading attachments after the job is completed or put on hold permission is required to use this feature. Please contact the account administrator on your team.

Best practices

  • Mark up photos of equipment or the work site. This helps provide a visual explanation of the issue and highlight potential solutions. For example, you can circle areas where you suspect a leak may be starting.

Capture and upload photos, videos, and files in the Field Mobile App

  1. Open your current job and tap Add at the bottom.

  2. On the screen that opens, you can:

    • Take Photo or Video

    • Upload Photo or Video

    • Upload File Menu options for adding items, including photo, video, and file uploads.

Note: Media uploaded here is automatically attached to the job and project it's associated with, if applicable.

To download a file:

  1. Scroll to the Media section on the Job tab.

  2. Select the file you want to download.

  3. Tap Download or Interface displaying steps for a successful service call with downloadable PDF options.

Rename photos, videos, and files in the Field Mobile App

After you add photos, videos, and files to a job, rename them to help you easily find and reference later:

  1. Open your current job and scroll to the Media section on the Job tab.

  2. Tap the item you want to rename.

  3. Tap Edit Plumbing components including a garbage disposal and pipes, with highlighted installation details.

  4. Enter the new name. A sink with a highlighted note indicating a leak that needs replacement.

    Note: If you're renaming a PDF file, you can only edit the file name. You can't edit the PDF fields.

  5. Tap outside the item to save (iOS) or tap Save (Android).

Edit photos with painting tools in the Field Mobile App

After you add photos and files to a job, use painting tools to highlight parts of the image that need special attention or emphasis:

  1. Open your current job and scroll to the Media section on the Job tab.

  2. Tap the item you want to mark up.

  3. Tap Tune / Edit A kitchen sink setup with plumbing components and a highlighted adjustment tool.

  4. If you're on an iOS device, tap Markup .

    Note: This step isn't required on Android devices.

  5. Markup options include:

    • iOS:

      • Various Markup icons to draw on the image.

      • Add icon to add a description, sticker, text, signature, or shape to the image.

      • Color picker to change the pen color.

      • Undo to undo your previous action, and Redo to restore your undone action.

    • Android:

      • Undo to undo your previous action, and Redo to restore your undone action.

      • Color picker to change the color.

      • Text to add a text annotation to the image.

      • Line to draw lines on the image.

      • Shape to draw different shapes on the image.

      • Draw to draw on the image.

  6. When you're finished marking up the image, tap Pen > Close (iOS) or Done (Android) to save your changes and exit the markup screen.

Note: When you mark up a photo or file, a new image is added that includes the markups. PDF files can only be marked up on iOS devices.
