Problem
When trying to update an invoice, you might see the error: Items added to the invoice from the requisition closeout screen cannot affect the invoice total. Please add a service to record revenue.
Solution
This error message may occur if the items were added through the requisition closeout screen. You can remove the items from the invoice and re-add them with the correct item price.
General troubleshooting
Rate sheets with markup percentages automatically calculate prices, overriding manual entries. Check your rate sheets to see if this is impact your item price. For more, see Create rate sheets.

Update item price on invoice
Check if the item was added through a requisition order and brought in through the invoice closeout section. This is a key detail that affects how you can update the invoice.
If the item was not added through requisition and closeout, try removing it from the invoice. Then, re-add it with the correct price before saving it to the invoice.
To remove an item, go to the invoice where the item is listed. Find the item you want to update and select the option to delete or remove it.
After removing the item, add it back to the invoice. Before saving, enter the new unit price you want for the item.
Save the changes to the invoice. This should update the item with the new price without triggering the error message.
Remember, the error occurs because ServiceTitan uses specific rules for items added from the requisition closeout screen to ensure accurate inventory tracking and revenue recording. If an item's inventory count is at 0, it might not allow price updates through the invoice screen due to these inventory tracking rules.
