Overview

Use the Field Mobile App to add and annotate documents and media related to your current project. Adding documents and media ensures transparency, showcases the work done, and provides a visual record for both customers and the office. Annotating documents and media helps you review technical drawings, highlight changes, and track file versions.

  • Primarily benefits Plumbing, HVAC, Garage, Electrical, and Roofing/Exterior trades

Feature configuration

  • The Field Mobile App is optimized for iOS, iPadOS, and Android phones and tablets. For more, see System requirements and mobile app information.

  • If you're using the Field Mobile App and need support, please contact (through the office) or reach out directly to support@servicetitan.com.

  • This feature is currently in Early Access and available for specific accounts. It is subject to change. If you want to enable this feature for your account, join the waitlist here.

Things to know

  • If a job is associated with a project, you can quickly access it by tapping the project link at the top after opening the job.

  • Only jobs or visits that occur in the same location can belong to the same project.

  • Office employees and technicians can annotate the same file to collaborate. If someone else is actively annotating the same document, a message appears letting you know. You can save your annotations when they're finished. Error message indicating document cannot be saved due to another user editing it.

  • Image and PDF files are available for annotations. Other file types, like PDF forms and CAD drawings, aren't supported.

  • When uploading files, keep in mind:

    • Maximum file size: 250 MB per file

    • Total upload limit: 1 TB per batch

    • Number of files: Unlimited

  • You can upload the following file types: .avi, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, .webp, .3gp, .rup, .dng, .heic, .heif, .tif, .tiff, .jfif, .pdf, .mov, .mp4, .doc, .xls, .docx, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx, .mp3, .htm, .html, .vcf, .txt, .xml, .csv, .smil, .msg, .eml, .mhtml, .dwg, .dxf, .ifc, .rvt, .nwd, and .sdr.

Add project documents in the Field Mobile App

  1. Search for the project or open it from the current job you're working.

  2. In the project, scroll to the Documents section and tap Expand next to Media & Attachments.

  3. On the screen that opens, tap the Add icon to:

    • Take photo

    • Record video

    • Upload photo

    • Upload video

    • Upload file

Note: If you need to remove a document, tap More > Delete .

Annotate project-related documents and media in the Field Mobile App

  1. Search for the project or open it from the current job you're working.

  2. In the project, scroll to the Documents section and tap Expand next to Media & Attachments.

  3. Tap a file or photo to open it.

  4. On the file or photo that opens, tap the Annotate icon. HVAC blueprint showing layout, duct sizes, and connections for a restaurant.

  5. In the Annotation view that opens, tap Expand then select one of the following options:

    • View: Pinch to zoom in or out and move across the document.

    • Annotate: Highlight sections, customize colors, add notes, and make style markups.

    • Shapes: Add rectangles, arrows, and make freehand shapes.

    • Measure: Measure lengths, angles, and dimensions and set custom scales and precision. HVAC blueprint showing layout, duct sizes, and airflow specifications for a restaurant.

Tip: Tap the History icon to select and view each version of the document. Each saved version is automatically tagged with the date, time, and the name of the person who saved it.
