Overview
When adding equipment to a service location, you can map scanned fields from nameplates with Optical Character Recognition (OCR). This allows you to capture equipment details automatically, such as model numbers, serial numbers, installation dates, and manufacturers.

Things to know
On the Equipment tab, you can:
Sort equipment by name, serial number, installed date, and last serviced date.
Filter equipment by equipment type, memberships, tags, manufacturer warranty, and service warranty.
Review the Installed section to see a list of active equipment existing on a customer's location.
Review the Replaced section to see a list of equipment that has now been replaced, or is no longer available.
If you book a job that has equipment already installed at the service location, it's automatically shown on the booked job.
Map scanned fields automatically using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) in the Field Mobile App
Open your current job and tap the Equipment tab.
Tap Add > Equipment.
On the Add Equipment screen that opens, tap Scan Equipment Details.

Point your device at the equipment label you want to scan.
Capture the image so it can be scanned.

Wait for the scan to complete.
After the scan is complete, the Model #, Serial #, Manufacturer, and Date Installed are automatically populated.Note: If needed, you can tap a field to edit and overwrite the automated entry.
(Optional) Select Add to memo. This adds the mapped information and all other scanned data to the equipment's Memo field.When finished, tap Save. The details are added to the respective fields on the Add Equipment screen.
Finish adding the equipment by entering a name and any additional details, if needed. When finished, tap Add.
Map scanned fields manually using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) in the Field Mobile App
Open your current job and tap the Equipment tab.
Tap Scan

Note: You can also tap Search
to look for existing equipment by entering the model or asset number.Point your device at the equipment you want to scan.
Tap Text Scanner to scan the text or Barcode scanner to scan the barcode, then capture the image so it can be scanned.

If a match is found, the equipment is shown.

If no match is found, tap Continue to map data.

Map the scanned fields by tapping Select next to each field then selecting the field from the scanned image.
When finished, tap Save. The details are added to the respective fields on the Add Equipment screen.
Finish adding the equipment by entering a name and any additional details, if needed. When finished, tap Add.
