Pricebook Pro and Pricebook Connect FAQ

If I use Pricebook Pro to create my Pricebook, how can I make the most of the vendor catalogs?

  • Map generic items to vendor-specific items: Generic items have recommended item code names which allows you to map generic items to vendor-specific items.

  • Map vendor-specific items to services: Customers can use Pricebook Pro to create generic Services that can be tied to vendor-specific items.

    • If customers already have items from the catalog in their Pricebook, ServiceTitan recommends adding vendor-specific items to the Service.

    • Customers that have already created Services in their Pricebook, need to manually map vendor-specific equipment and materials to their Services

As a Pricebook Pro user, how do I set up Configurable Equipment and Configurable Materials?

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Pricebook .

  2. In the side menu, click Materials.

  3. On the Materials screen, add the Configurable Materials column, then click Edit Mode.

  4. Update the materials you think are configurable or that you want to be able to select from in bulk by clicking the field and checking the box. Repeat these steps for equipment.

Note: Follow steps 1-3 for the attached materials or equipment from Pricebook Pro. Avoid updating any fields for your real, unattached materials or equipment.

  5. Download your vendor content to your Pricebook.

How do Configurable Services work after the setup?

Configurable Services should work automatically as follows:

  1. Create an estimate and add a Pricebook Pro service to that estimate.

  2. When you add the service,  if one or more of the attached materials or equipment has the Configurable Materials or Configurable Equipment field enabled, then you will get a pop-up window that will surface the attached material with 4-5 real options that match pulled from your Pricebook for you to select from.

  3. If you see the real material you want, select it and click Ok and the estimate will substitute the generic material for the real one and update the price accordingly. ServiceTitan's AI-powered solution (TI) remembers your future selection and ensures it is always one of the options.

  4. If you don’t see the one you want, an Add More link will take you to your Pricebook to search for the real material. When you select the one you want, TI will remember your selection for the future and make sure it is always one of the options.

Note: To allow search, you must enable the Allow find more feature in Pricebook > Material > Material & Equipment Settings.

How can I use Configurable Services?

Configurable Services currently work only on the Estimates screen. To use this feature, you must have a material or equipment item pre-attached to the service, and it needs to be marked as Configurable Materials or Configurable Equipment in ServiceTitan. The Configurable Service window will only appear when you add a service with pre-attached configurable equipment or materials to the estimate.

How can I use Configurable Services without Pricebook Pro?

You can use configurable services without Pricebook Pro, but the conditions described in the above question must be met for it to work without Pricebook Pro. You have to manually decide which items should be configurable.
