How to bring back an accidentally dismissed RSE?

Prev Next

Problem

A Recurring Service Event (RSE) was accidentally dismissed, and the previous method of logging a follow-up to change the status is no longer available.

Solution

There are a few scenarios that you need to look out for before identifying the fix.

Note: These troubleshooting steps are for memberships that have deferred revenue recognition. For memberships set with Point of Sale revenue recognition, see What is the process for reverting changes made to a dismissed Recurring Service Event?

Revenue has already been recognized

It is crucial to ensure that you do not recognize the revenue twice. In such cases, the best practice is:

  1. Go to the Call Booking screen.

  2. Book a job.

  3. Go to the dismissed event page.

  4. Log a follow-up on the dismissed event, and attach the job number. For more details, see Log a follow-up for a recurring service event.

Note: Unfortunately, there is no way to undo a Revenue Snapshot if revenue has already been recognized.

Revenue has not been recognized

If the revenue still needs to be recognized, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings A simple icon representing a settings gear. > Recurring Service Type.

  2. Create a new Recurring Service.

Note: Creating a new Recurring Service should help ensure that the dismissed event is properly replaced.

  3. Go to the customer whose Recurring Service Event (RSE) you need to restore.

  4. Go to the Membership of the Recurring Service.

  5. Edit the membership.

  6. Scroll down to the Recurring Services section and click on Add Recurring Service.

  7. In the dropdown menu, select the new Recurring Service you created.

  8. Change the date and Invoice Template as needed.

Note: If the customer's membership automatically calculates invoice template task prices for Deferred Revenue, ensure that the invoice template tasks are priced to match the missed revenue that should be recognized.

  9. After making the necessary changes, click Save.

  10. Return to the customer's Membership page and click on Recurring Services.

  11. Adjust the recurrence rate according to your needs. If the Recurring Service is meant to be a one-time event, ensure that the Duration Type is set to # of Total Visits and # of Total Visits is set to 1.

Note: This method allows you to add a new Recurring Service Event instead of the dismissed one.
