Overview

Add tracking campaigns in ServiceTitan to track incoming leads, monitor customer service representative (CSR) performance, run marketing reports, and view marketing data in real time.


Make sure you’re viewing the correct Marketing Pro content

This article is for Marketing Pro v2. If you are using Marketing Pro, see Marketing Pro for content specific to your experience.

You can check your version following these steps:

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Marketing A speaker icon representing Marketing in ServiceTitan..

  2. If the side menu under Analytics includes One-Time Campaigns and Automated Campaigns, you're using Marketing Pro v2. If these options aren't visible, you're using Marketing Pro.

Who uses this feature

Things to know

  • A phone integration is required to automatically track the source of incoming leads. After the phone integration is set up, you can edit a tracking number to attach it to each of your marketing campaigns. For more information, see Set up phone integration and Add or edit tracking numbers.

  • CSRs can manually attach a marketing campaign to any call. This attaches the campaign to the job. You can see the Campaign field on the Call Booking screen under the Job Details section.

Types of campaigns you can set up in ServiceTitan

ServiceTitan makes it simple to track and manage your marketing efforts. You can create campaigns for:

  • Advertising campaigns: Monitor performance for radio, online, television, billboard, and bench ads.

  • Marketing efforts: Track efforts like door drops, flyers, magnets, and mailers.

  • Customer referrals: Track referrals to reward and encourage word-of-mouth business.

  • Repeat business or returning customers: Track business from repeat customers.

Note: The campaigns you set up determine your marketing data in marketing reports.

Add a tracking campaign

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Marketing .

  2. In the side menu, go to Campaigns > Campaign Manager.

  3. Click Create Campaign > Tracking CampaignCampaign Manager interface showing options for creating and managing tracking campaigns.

  4. In the Create Tracking Campaign form that opens, provide the following details:        

    • Enter a unique, brief, and descriptive Name.

    • Select a Category for the campaign.                

      Note: If the category you want to add isn't available, go to Settings > Operations > Campaign Categories and create a new category. For more, see Add and use campaign categories.

    • Select the Business Units to which the campaign applies.                

      Note: If you don't select a business unit, the campaign is associated with all business units by default.

    • Enter the Advertised Number for the campaign. This can be a phone number used for advertising this campaign or a tracking number assigned in ServiceTitan to track the revenue of the campaign. If the campaign uses multiple phone numbers, click Add Number to add them.                

      Tip: To get accurate data for the return on investment (ROI) of a campaign, attach a unique tracking number to each of your campaigns.

    • Select the Source of the platform from where the calls and bookings are received.

    • Select the Medium by which you receive the calls and bookings. For example, this can be through social media, organic, email, or other channels.                

      Note: You can't customize the Source and Medium options unless you use Marketing Pro Ads. For more, see Get started with Marketing Pro Ads.

  5. When finished, click Create.

Edit cost for a tracking campaign

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Marketing .

  2. In the side menu, go to Campaigns > Campaign Manager.

  3. Select the Tracking Campaigns tab.

  4. Click More  > Edit Cost next to the campaign you want to edit the cost for.

  5. In the Edit Campaign Cost form that opens, enter either the Avg Daily Cost or Monthly Cost for each month the campaign ran.        

    Note: If you enter an Avg Daily Cost, the Monthly Cost is calculated automatically.

  6. When finished, click SaveOverview of campaign costs for each month in 2024 with average daily costs.

Edit a tracking campaign

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Marketing .

  2. In the side menu, go to Campaigns > Campaign Manager.

  3. Select the Tracking Campaigns tab.

  5. In the Edit Tracking Campaign form that opens, make your changes then click Save.

Deactivate a tracking campaign

You can deactivate campaigns created outside Marketing Pro if you no longer need to track them. Once deactivated, their metrics will no longer appear on your dashboard.

Note: You can reactivate campaigns as needed.

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Marketing .

  2. In the side menu, go to Campaigns > Campaign Manager.

  3. Click the Tracking Campaigns tab.

  4. Click More  > Deactivate next to the tracking campaign you want to deactivate. Campaign Manager interface showing active tracking campaigns and options to edit or deactivate.

  5. In the Deactivate Campaign? pop-up that opens, click Deactivate.

Reactivate a tracking campaign

You can reactivate tracking campaigns. Once reactivated, their metrics will appear in your dashboard again.

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Marketing .

  2. In the side menu, go to Campaigns > Campaign Manager.

  3. Click the Tracking Campaigns tab.

  4. Click More  > Activate next to the tracking campaign you want to activate. Campaign Manager interface showing tracking campaigns with options to activate and edit.

  5. In the Activate Campaign? pop-up that opens, click Activate.
