This improvement to the existing Field Pro job recording feature lets you decide which recording actions technicians can use in the Field Mobile App so job recordings follow your office rules.
Note: This improvement is only for accounts that use both Field Pro and the Field Mobile App.

What's changing?
Before, any Field Pro technician who could start job recording also had full access to cancel, pause, and stop actions in the Field Mobile App, with no way for the office to limit those controls. Now, there are new settings in Field Pro desktop that control what technicians see in the mobile experience: Disable Recording Cancellation, Disable Recording Stop, and Disable Recording Pause. When you turn these settings on for a technician, the matching controls in the Field Mobile App are disabled and greyed out, even when the technician works offline. This helps you reduce misuse of recording actions and keep job recording behavior consistent across your team.

Before and After
Before (Current)
In ServiceTitan, you give technicians access to job recording in the Field Pro mobile experience.
A technician opens a job in the Field Mobile App and starts job recording.
During the job, the technician can tap Cancel, Stop, or Pause at any time.
You have no way to turn off specific recording actions for certain technicians or job types.
Impact: Job recordings can be incomplete or inconsistent because technicians can cancel or pause them in ways that do not match your office policies.
After
In ServiceTitan on desktop, you go to Settings > Field Pro > Settings > Technicians.
For each technician or role, you click Edit and select Disable Recording Cancellation, Disable Recording Stop, or Disable Recording Pause based on your policy.
A technician opens a job in the Field Mobile App and taps Arrive to start a sales recording for the job.
Any recording actions you disabled appear as greyed-out controls, so the technician can only use the allowed recording actions.
These limits apply in both online and offline modes, so behavior stays consistent in the field.
Impact: You control which recording actions technicians can take, so job recordings better follow your office procedures and reduce accidental or intentional misuse.

How it works for your industry
Residential Service and Replacement
A technician runs a residential drain clearing job where you need a full record from start to finish. You disable Recording Cancellation and Recording Pause for that technician so they can start and stop the recording, but not cancel or pause it during the visit.
On a large replacement job, you want to prevent technicians from canceling a recording after work begins. You leave Pause and Stop available, but you turn on Disable Recording Cancellation so recordings stay tied to the job.
For short maintenance visits, you allow Pause but disable Stop until the job is complete. Technicians can pause if they leave the site briefly, but they stop the recording only when the visit is truly finished.
How to Prepare?
Confirm which teams and technicians use Field Pro job recording today with the Field Mobile App and where you see problems with cancel, pause, or stop recording behavior.
Ensure that your technicians who use Field Pro with the Field Mobile App have the View Sales Pro permission enabled.
Identify clear recording rules for different job types or technician groups, such as when recordings must never be canceled or paused.
Align with office staff on how to use the three new settings so everyone gives the same guidance to the team.
Train technicians on what it means when recording controls are greyed out and how they should handle job recording under the new rules.
Confirm that the right team members have access in ServiceTitan to manage Field Pro job recording settings and adjust them over time.
