What is preventing me from adding a specific sales task code to my membership type?

Problem

You can't add a sales task code to a membership type because it's already linked with another membership. Sales task codes can only link to one membership at a time.

Solution

First, find out if the sales task is linked to another membership. If it is, you can either create a new sales task code for your membership or unlink it from the other membership type and add it to yours.

Find the membership type linked to the sales task code

1. Go to the navigation bar and click Settings > Invoicing > Membership Types.

2. Find the membership type you want to add the sales task code to.

3. Click Edit for that membership type.

4. Check if the sales task code is listed. If it's not, it might be linked to another membership.

5. Search for the sales task code in ServiceTitan to see which membership it's currently linked to.

After you find out which membership the sales task is attached to, you can decide on how you want to proceed.

• If you want to keep the sales task code linked to its current membership, you'll need to create a new sales task for your membership.

• If you want to move the sales task code to a different membership, you'll need to unlink it from the current membership.

Create new sales task code

1. Go to the navigation bar and click Settings > Invoicing > Membership Types.

2. Click Edit for the membership type you want to add the new sales task code to.

3. Click Billing and then select New Sales Task.

4. Click Create New Task.

5. Fill in the new sales task code, making sure it meets your needs.

6. Save the new sales task code.

7. Link the new sales task code to your membership type.

Move sales task code to a new membership

1. Go to the navigation bar and click Settings > Invoicing > Membership Types.

2. Click Edit for the membership type that currently has the sales task code linked.

3. Click Billing and then select New Sales Task.

4. Find the sales code in the list of linked items and click X to remove it.

5. Link the sales task code to the correct membership type.

Remember, a sales task code can only be linked to one membership at a time. Choose the best option for your needs.
