Problem

The membership task is not appearing when trying to add it to a membership invoice.

Solution

To make the task visible when adding it to a membership invoice, update the workflow settings for the service item in your Pricebook.

Check the workflow settings

  1. Go to the navigation bar and click Pricebook.

  2. In the side menu, click Services.

  3. Find the service item that isn't appearing when adding it to the membership invoice.

  4. Select the item, click Actions, and choose View/Edit.

  5. Go to the Workflow section.

  6. If the workflow is set to Do Nothing, this is what's preventing the task from appearing on the membership invoice. Update the workflow so that the task triggers or interacts with the membership.
You can choose one of the following options, depending on what you want the task to do:

    1. Create and activate membership plan: When this task is added to an invoice, it generates a new membership for the customer.

    2. Renew an existing membership plan: When this task is added to an invoice, it renews the customer's expiring membership.

    3. Adjust the membership being sold with the following changes: When this task is added as an add-on to a new membership sale or renewal, it modifies the membership based on the selected options below:

      1. Add new recurring service

      2. Add additional tasks to the membership's billing template

      3. Add additional tasks to the recurring service invoice template

Editing service options for Membership with various task selections.

Note: The names of memberships and recurring services may vary based on your account configuration.

  7. When finished, click Save.

  8. Open the membership invoice.

Tip: Press Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac) to perform a hard refresh and ensure updates are applied.

  9. Click Add a Task.

  10. Add the updated service item and click Save.
