Things to know
The Industry Benchmark Report shows market-wide data. It does not compare your own tenants against it. Use Tenant Details or the 4-Quadrant View for that.
Benchmark+ currently supports the HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Water Treatment, and Garage Doors trades.
Industry benchmarks and insights are refreshed at the start of each new quarter. The report shows the date its revenue data was last refreshed in a banner at the top of the screen.
Company size is measured by technicians who complete jobs, not managed technicians. Small is 5 or fewer, Medium is 6 to 23, and Large is 24 or more.
Best practices
Check the report before concluding a revenue dip is yours. A whole region may be down.
Confirm which climate region your business sits in, so you read the right group.
Download the data when you want to compare periods or groups outside the on-screen view.
Use cases
A tenant's revenue falls and you want to know whether the market fell with it. Open the report, find the matching group, and compare the trend.
You are considering entering a new region or trade. Review that group's metrics before committing.
You want your own analysis. Export the metrics to Excel and work from the raw monthly figures.

View regional metrics
The Regional Metrics section shows benchmark metrics for every group in Benchmark+. Review monthly performance and compare how similar businesses are doing.

Switch between the metric tabs to see each metric's data. The available metrics are:
Completed Revenue: Revenue from completed jobs.
Booking Rate: Percentage of call leads booked into jobs — jobs booked from call leads divided by total call leads.
Install & Service Ticket: Categorizes jobs with a strong likelihood of being Install or Service based on job value. Some jobs may remain unclassified.
# of Completed Jobs: Total number of completed jobs.
# of Jobs per Technician: Completed jobs per technician, determined for each business before percentile calculation. Technicians must have at least one job in the month.
Revenue per Technician: Completed revenue for each technician.
Install to Service Ratio: Estimated revenue split between Install and Service jobs.
Each metric is broken into groups named by company size, business type, trade and region — for example Large Residential HVAC West. Expand a group to see a table of month-by-month detail.
Tip: Use the Sort by dropdown to organize the data by Trade, Region, Size, or Type.
Each table shows one row per measure, with a column for each month in your selected date range:
20th percentile: A lower-end benchmark.
Median: The middle value, showing typical performance.
80th percentile: A higher-end benchmark.
Average: The overall value across all businesses.
