Create custom clusters in Benchmark+

Overview

Custom clusters let you build your own peer groups in Benchmark+ so comparisons reflect the markets and businesses that matter to you. Define clusters by primary trade, type, number of technicians, and region, then use them to benchmark KPIs against similar companies, track initiatives by market, and share consistent views across your team.


Who uses this feature

  • Business owners and company leaders

  • Primarily for Residential Service business types

Feature configuration

  • This feature is currently in Private Preview and available for specific accounts. It is subject to change. If you want to enable this feature for your account, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM).

  • The View Benchmark+ permission is required to use this feature. Please contact the account administrator on your team.

View clusters in Benchmark+

  1. Sign in to Enterprise Hub using your username and password.

  2. Click Benchmarks.

  3. In the side menu, go to Comparison Group Definition.

  4. The Comparison Group Definition screen opens displaying the following details:

    1. Total Tenants: Number of tenant accounts included in the comparison group.

    2. Active Clusters: Number of clusters that have been created and are currently active.

    3. Primary Trade: Number of trades considered when running comparisons.

    4. Regions: Number of regions represented in the group.

  5. In the Your Clusters section, you can see all clusters you’ve created with the following details:

    1. Primary Trade

    2. Type 

    3. Number of Techs

    4. Region

Create custom clusters in Benchmark+

  1. Sign in to Enterprise Hub using your username and password.

  2. Click Benchmarks.

  3. In the side menu, go to Comparison Group Definition.

  4. On the Comparison Group Definition screen that opens, click +Create Custom Cluster.

  5. On the Create Custom Cluster side panel that opens, add the details for the cluster.

    1. Cluster Name: Enter a name for the comparison group. 

    2. Primary Trade: Select one or more trades to compare with similar companies.

      1. HVAC

      2. Plumbing

      3. Other

      4. Electrical

      5. Garage Door

      6. Water Treatment

      Tip: Select the business type that matches your companies. You can select both if applicable.

      1. >85% Residential

      2. >15% Commercial

    3. Number of techs: Select the number of unique technicians who were assigned at least one job in the selected period.

      1. 24 or more

      2. 6 to 23

      3. 5 or fewer

    4. Region: Select one or more climate-based regions so benchmarks and rankings reflect those markets.

      Tip: Regions follow climate groupings used in Benchmark+. See the region map to confirm which states belong to each region.

  6. Select the Set as default cluster for benchmarking option to make cluster the default comparison group across Benchmark+.

    Note: You can change or clear it anytime from the Clusters filter.

  7. When finished, click Create.

Edit, remove or set a default cluster

  1. On the Comparison Group Definition screen, under the Your Clusters section, select the cluster you want to edit.

  2. Click More and select Edit.

  3. Update the fields you want, then click Edit to save.
