Things to know
Coming soon to Field Mobile App Release 25.0
All technicians can view maintenance materials. Adding, editing, and deleting materials requires the Edit maintenance materials permission.
Materials shown for the equipment come from either of the following:
The assigned Equipment Type, configured in Settings
> Equipment > Equipment Types.Materials added directly to the equipment record, if your office has enabled this capability. Technicians with the Edit maintenance materials permission can also add them in the Field Mobile App.
Changes made in the Field Mobile App apply only to that piece of equipment. The Equipment Type, and other equipment of the same type, aren't changed.
For materials that come from the Equipment Type, you can edit the quantity, description, and linked Pricebook material. You can't change their name or delete them.
A material with no linked Pricebook item is shown as Unmapped. Technicians with the Edit maintenance materials permission can link it to a Pricebook material.
When you link a Pricebook material, you can select materials only. Services and equipment aren't available from this screen.
You can view materials and attach existing maintenance materials while offline using the most recently synced data. Creating new maintenance materials requires an internet connection..
Best practices
Configure Equipment Types with their standard maintenance materials in the office before your technicians start relying on this view in the field.
Review the Maintenance Materials section before a maintenance visit so you arrive with the right parts, such as the correct filter size, belt type, or refrigerant.

If you notice a material marked Unmapped, link the correct Pricebook material if you have the Edit maintenance materials permission. Otherwise, flag it to your office so it can be linked to the correct Pricebook item.
Search the list before creating a new material name. A new name is added to your company's list for every technician.
Use cases
A technician heading to a quarterly HVAC tune-up checks the Maintenance Materials section before leaving the shop to confirm which filter and refrigerant type the unit needs.
A technician arriving at a commercial job reviews the linked Pricebook materials on the equipment record to confirm the correct parts are already loaded on the truck.

A technician on a maintenance visit finds that a unit takes a different filter than its Equipment Type lists. They add the correct filter to that piece of equipment and link the Pricebook material, so the next technician to service the unit sees the right filter.
