Failed-autobatch payment emails not reaching the right people

What you're seeing

When payment autobatching fails, the employees who need to know are not getting the failure email. Because no one is alerted, a failed batch can go unnoticed and payments may not settle.

Why this happens

Reason 1

The failure email is controlled by a per-employee permission.

Only employees who have the Receive payment autobatching failure emails permission enabled receive the email. If no one has the permission, or only the wrong people do, the staff who need the alert will not get it. Add the permission for anyone who should be notified.

How to fix it

1Enable the failure-email permission on the employee's profile

  1. On the navigation bar, click Settings.

  2. Go to People > Employees.

  3. Find the employee who should receive the emails and click Edit.

  4. Select the Permissions tab.

  5. Select the Receive payment autobatching failure emails permission.

  6. Click Save Changes.

✓ Done · That employee now gets an email whenever payment autobatching fails. Repeat for anyone else who needs the alert.
