Overview

Add sub-items to create item groups on estimates and invoices in the Field Mobile App. This allows you to bundle services into a single line, increasing the scope of work without giving the customer visibility into material prices or hourly rates.

Use cases

  • You sell a water heater installation but you also need to charge the customer for additional parts to complete the job and to dispose of the previous water heater.

Add sub-items while adding a new item to an estimate or invoice in the Field Mobile App

  1. Open your job and tap the tab you need:        

    • Estimates (Residential) or Proposals (Commercial)
      or

    • Invoice (Residential) or Work Summary (Commercial)

  2. For estimates/proposals, tap + Add Items on the estimate.

  3. For invoices/work summaries, tap Add or View in the Invoice/Line Items section.

  4. Tap Add Items and use the pricebook to find, open, and Add the item then tap the item to open it.

  5. Tap + Sub-ItemsAir conditioning unit installation details with pricing and options for sub-items.

  6. Use the pricebook to find and open the item you want to add as a sub-item then tap Add.

  7. Tap Create Item Group > Add then select Add to Estimates or Add to Invoice.

Add sub-items to an existing item on an estimate or invoice in the Field Mobile App

  1. Open your job and tap the tab you need:        

    • Estimates (Residential) or Proposals (Commercial)
      or

    • Invoice (Residential) or Work Summary (Commercial)

  2. For estimates/proposals:        

    1. Open the estimate.

    2. Tap Edit in the Items section.

    3. Tap the item to open it.

  3. For invoices/work summaries:        

    1. Tap View in the Invoice/Line Items section.

    2. Tap the item to open it.

  4. Use the pricebook to find and open the item you want to add as a sub-item then tap Add.

  5. Tap Create Item Group > Update.

Edit item groups in the Field Mobile App

  1. Open your job and tap the tab you need:        

    • Estimates (Residential) or Proposals (Commercial)
      or

    • Invoice (Residential) or Work Summary (Commercial)

  2. For estimates/proposals:        

    1. Open the estimate.

    2. Tap Edit in the Items section.

  3. For invoices/work summaries:        

    1. Tap View in the Invoice/Line Items section.

  4. Make the necessary changes then tap Save.        

    Tip: You can edit the item group name and description by tapping Edit under Item Groups
