Overview
After you sell an estimate and schedule the work for later, you can collect a deposit directly in the Field Mobile App. The deposit carries over to the follow-up job when it's booked, making sure the right balance shows on the final invoice.

Things to know
This workflow is only available after tapping Perform work later when selling an estimate. If you tap Perform work now, you'll then select Continue and collect payment as you normally would when finalizing the job and invoice.

Tip: If you accidentally marked an estimate as Sold for now on an active job, you can change it to Sold for later to collect the deposit. For more, see Change a sold-for-now estimate to sold-for-later and collect a deposit in the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App.
Deposits carry over to the invoice on the follow-up job based on your office's auto apply rules for payments. Deposits are only listed on the initial job's printed invoice if your office:
Uses a Template Manager template design that contains the Invoice Payments and Invoice Price Modifiers components.
Uses the Price Information component on the legacy non-DTE print view.
The names of certain screens, tabs, and so on may be different based on your selection in Menu
> Settings. For more, see Show Residential or Commercial terms in the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App.
Best practices
Confirm deposit rules with your office to ensure that when and how you collect deposits aligns with your company's practices.
Use cases
As a Residential Service and Replacement technician, you sell an AC replacement to be installed next week. You collect a 25% deposit in the field, which shows on the invoice and gets applied to the final install job.
As a Commercial Service and Replacement technician, you sell an estimate for a multi-day job and collect a deposit. Office staff book the follow-up visit with the deposit auto-applied.
As a Residential Construction technician, you collect a deposit on a remodel estimate. The deposit links to the construction project so it's visible on reports and budgets.
As a Commercial Construction technician, you sell the next phase during a site visit. You collect a deposit and ServiceTitan tracks it to the correct job.
Collect a deposit on a sold estimate in the Field Mobile App
After tapping Perform work later, tap Collect Deposit.

For the deposit Amount, select the percentage you want to apply or enter a custom percentage.

After an amount is applied, select the Payment Type.

Back on the deposit collection screen, tap Collect or Continue and finish processing the payment based on your payment type selection. For more, see Field Mobile App: Process payments.
After collecting the deposit, tap Back to Estimate to return to the Estimates tab (Residential) or Proposals tab (Commercial).

The deposit appears on the sold estimate.

After this job is completed, an opportunity follow-up is automatically created. When your office books a new job from the opportunity follow-up, the deposit carries over to the follow-up job based on your office's auto apply rules for payments.

Tip: You can also collect deposits by tapping More
> Collect Deposit on a sold-for-later estimate on the Estimates tab (Residential) or Proposals tab (Commercial).

Or, if you tap an individual sold-for-later estimate to open it, you can just tap Collect Deposit.
