Change a sold-for-now estimate to sold-for-later and collect a deposit in the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App

Overview

If you accidentally marked an estimate as Sold for now on an active job, you can change to Sold for later. This allows you to collect the deposit for it now.

Feature configuration

  • The Field Mobile App is optimized for iOS, iPadOS, and Android phones and tablets. For more, see System requirements and mobile app information.

  • If you're using the Field Mobile App and need support, please contact (through the office) or reach out directly to support@servicetitan.com.

  • Account configuration is required to use this feature. Office setup is also required for auto-apply rules to apply to payment credits collected on the sold estimate on mobile. Please contact your office for details.

  • The following permissions are required to use this feature. Please contact the account administrator on your team.

    • Sell Estimate: Convert and sell estimates.

    • View Total Price: View total prices on estimates.

    • View item prices: View item prices on estimates.

    • Allow editing sold estimates: Change an estimate from Sold for now to Sold for later.

Things to know

  • The job must be active and not yet complete for you to change an estimate from Sold for now to Sold for later. This allows the items from the estimate to be removed from the current job's invoice.

  • The names of certain screens, tabs, and so on may be different based on your selection in Menu > Settings. For more, see Show Residential or Commercial terms in the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App.

  • Confirm deposit rules with your office to ensure that when and how you collect deposits aligns with your company's practices.

Use cases

  • You accidentally marked an estimate as Sold for now that needs to be changed to Sold for later so you can collect the deposit for it now.

Change a sold-for-now estimate to sold-for-later and collect a deposit in the Field Mobile App

  1. Open your job and:

    • If your default terminology is set to Residential, tap Estimates.

    • If your default terminology is set to Commercial, tap Proposals.

  2. Find the estimate marked Sold for now that needs to be changed to Sold for later.

  3. On the sold-for-now estimate, tap More Estimate options for cooling services with pricing and member discounts displayed.

  4. On the Actions screen that opens, tap LaterOptions to perform work now or later, with additional actions listed below.

  5. On the Confirmation screen that opens, tap Collect Deposit.

    Note: If you're not ready to collect the deposit, tap Yes, Perform Work Later. When you are ready to collect the deposit, tap More > Collect Deposit on the sold-for-later estimate.

  6. Finish the steps to collect the deposit.
