Task codes showing on customer invoices

What you're seeing

Your printed and mobile invoices show internal task codes next to (or instead of) the task names. You want customers to see the readable task name, not the internal code.

This affects printed invoices and the mobile invoice presentation.

Why this happens

There is 1 common reason.

Reason 1

Invoices display task codes by default, and two feature configurations must be enabled to swap them for task names.

To show task names instead, one configuration turns on task names in the invoice item description, and the other hides the task codes from mobile and printed invoices. Until both are enabled, the codes keep appearing.

Before you start

You need the Feature Configurations capability enabled on your account to do this. If it isn't enabled, contact your Customer Success Manager or Technical Support to turn it on.

Note: These two feature configurations control task display on the standard invoice print. If your account uses the Document Template Engine (custom Document Templates), task names and codes are controlled inside the template instead (for example, the ID vs. name option on the Invoice Tasks component), and enabling these configurations may not change the result. If you use custom Document Templates, edit the template or contact Technical Support.

How to fix it

1Enable the two feature configurations that swap task codes for task names

  1. Go to Settings > Your Account > Feature Configurations.

  2. On the Feature Configurations screen, search for and enable both of these:

    • Enable task name on invoice print

    • Hide Task Codes from mobile and printed invoices

  3. Wait 5–10 minutes. Changes may take a little time to apply.

  4. Open a printed or mobile version of an invoice and confirm the task names are visible and the task codes are hidden.

Note: With Hide Task Codes enabled, tasks may appear numbered (1, 2, 3) in some presentations, such as the customer portal, instead of showing the code.

✓ Done · Your invoices show task names instead of task codes.

Still not working?

Contact ServiceTitan Technical Support at go.servicetitan.com/ask with:

  • The tenant name and an example invoice number where codes still appear

  • Which two feature configurations you enabled and when

  • Whether the issue is on printed invoices, mobile invoices, or both

  • Whether your account uses custom Document Templates (Document Template Engine)

  • A screenshot of your Feature Configurations screen showing the enabled settings

  • Which steps from this article you already tried
