Overview
Use Dispatch Pro Modes settings to manage how Dispatch Pro dispatches technicians and optimizes jobs for today and the next 3 days. These settings let you balance immediate schedule stability with long-term routing efficiency. With Additional Days to Plan Mode, Dispatch Pro can also plan and optimize future-dated jobs well beyond the next few days — up to two years out — so long-horizon work such as maintenance agreements and seasonal bookings stays inside Dispatch Pro optimization from the moment it's booked.

Things to know
Dispatch Pro is as effective as the data it has access to. Expect an adjustment period while you manage and revise your data and settings.
Running Mode and Solving Mode are set per day for today and the next few days. The Additional Days Mode setting controls how far into the future Dispatch Pro plans and optimizes booked jobs — up to two years.
Best practices
If you are new to automated dispatching, use Assist Mode for all four days to gain transparency and review suggested optimizations before they go live.
When you change the Running Mode, dispatchers receive a real-time alert. Make sure they know the difference between Auto Mode and Assist Mode to prevent confusion.
Plan to update your data and settings as you learn how automation impacts your specific business.
Use cases
If you want to move toward automation but are not ready for full control, set your Running Mode to Assist Mode. This allows you to approve every change for the next few days.
For a conservative approach for immediate tasks while allowing automation for the future, set today (Day 1) to Assist Mode so dispatchers can manually approve changes, while setting Days 2–4 to Auto Mode for hands-off optimization.
Use Light Mode for today or tomorrow to protect a finalized schedule, while using Full Mode for future days to allow the system to maximize routing efficiency.
If you book installs, recurring maintenance, or seasonal work months in advance, extend the planning window with Additional Days Mode so those future appointments are optimized — matched to the best technician and routed efficiently — from the moment they're booked, instead of waiting until they're a few days out.

Setting 7.1 - Customize your Dispatch Pro Mode settings by day
In setting 7.1, select the Running Mode and Solving Mode for the next 3 days, including today. When finished, click Save.
Running Mode
The Running Mode determines how Dispatch Pro assigns technicians to eligible jobs. Select a mode for each day:
Assist Mode: Dispatchers can generate, review, and approve the suggested optimizations for each Dispatch Pro-enabled job. This provides greater transparency and control over the changes Dispatch Pro is making. For more, see Use Dispatch Assist in Dispatch Pro.
Auto Mode: Dispatch Pro automatically assigns the most optimal technician to Dispatch Pro-enabled jobs, eliminating the need for manual review. While Dispatch Pro does the heavy lifting in Auto Mode, it still needs dispatchers to oversee it.
Note: If you change the Dispatch Pro mode, dispatchers on the Dispatch Board receive a real-time alert notifying them of the change. This ensures they can adjust their workflows accordingly and stay on top of their tasks.

Solving Mode
The Solving Mode determines which jobs Dispatch Pro optimizes. Select a mode for each day:
Full Mode: Dispatch Pro optimizes all Dispatch Pro-enabled jobs, including reassigning already assigned jobs when needed.
Light Mode: Dispatch Pro only assigns unassigned Dispatch Pro-enabled jobs. Any existing jobs assigned to a technician remain unchanged.
Setting 7.2 - Additional Days Mode
Use Additional Days Mode to extend how far into the future Dispatch Pro plans and optimizes booked jobs — up to two years out. This is especially useful for trades that book work weeks or months in advance, such as irrigation, recurring maintenance, or seasonal installs. Previously, Dispatch Pro optimized roughly 7–10 days ahead, and anything beyond that sat unoptimized — making it harder for dispatchers to see true future capacity or catch overbooking on future days.
Additional Days Mode is found at the bottom of the Dispatch Pro Modes tab.
To adjust how many additional days beyond the standard days to plan, reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or Pro Account Manager (PAM).
Select the Solving Mode for the additional days (see below).
When finished, click Save.
Running Mode
For additional days, the Running Mode is always set to Auto Mode — there is no Assist option.
Auto Mode: Dispatch Pro automatically assigns the most optimal technician to Dispatch Pro-enabled jobs on future days, with no manual review required.
Solving Mode
The Solving Mode determines which jobs Dispatch Pro optimizes on the additional days. The definitions match the per-day Solving Mode in Setting 7.1:
Full Mode: Dispatch Pro optimizes all Dispatch Pro-enabled jobs, including reassigning jobs already assigned to a technician — the best-fit technician wins, even if it means reassigning. Best for customers who want Dispatch Pro fully in the driver's seat on future days.
Light Mode: Dispatch Pro only assigns unassigned Dispatch Pro-enabled jobs. If a dispatcher has already placed a technician on a future job, Dispatch Pro leaves it unchanged. Best for customers who want to assign some future jobs manually without Dispatch Pro overriding those decisions.
