How can I update pricebook after adding new GL accounts?

Problem

You've added new GL accounts and need to update these in your pricebook and ensure your accounting records accurately reflect the new GL accounts.

Solution

Follow the steps below to effectively update your pricebook.

Update the pricebook with new GL accounts

Note: You can't update past transactions with these accounts after exporting the transactions to your accounting software.

1. In ServiceTitan, go to the navigation bar and click Pricebook.

2. In the side menu, click Import/Export.

3. Click the Export tab to export your pricebook to an Excel file.

4. Open your exported Pricebook Excel file and locate the columns you need to update: Account, CostOfSaleAccount, or Asset Account (depending on which item type's GL you're updating). For more, see Add and edit items with the Pricebook Excel template.

5. In each relevant column, replace the existing values with the correct new GL account mappings for your items.

6. Save your changes in the Excel file.

7. Go back to ServiceTitan and import the updated pricebook from the Excel file. For more, see Import and export your pricebook.

Tip: You can also update your pricebook by enabling the Edit Mode toggle and inline editing the Income Account field.
