Create estimates in the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App

Overview

While you're on a job, you can build estimates from a proposal template, build custom estimates, duplicate existing estimates and—for HVAC replacement jobs—use the estimate builder to generate a tiered proposal automatically.. This allows you to present options to the customer before completing the job.

The Field Mobile App is optimized for iOS, iPadOS, and Android phones and tablets. For more, see System requirements and mobile app information.
If you're using the Field Mobile App and need support, please contact Technical Support (through the office) or reach out directly to support@servicetitan.com.
The following permissions are required to use this feature. Please contact the account administrator on your team.
- Create Estimate: Create and duplicate estimates.
- Add Estimate and Invoice Item: Add items to estimates.
- View Total Price and View item prices: View total and item prices on estimates.

Things to know

If you want to create more than one estimate, repeat the workflow steps.
Estimates added to completed jobs are created as Unsold. For more on completed-job workflows, see Add estimates, notes, and more to completed jobs in the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App.
The names of certain screens, tabs, and so on may be different based on your selection in Menu > Settings. For more, see Show Residential or Commercial terms in the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App.

The estimate builder currently generates options for HVAC replacement jobs only. For other job types, use a proposal template or build a custom estimate.

Create an estimate from a proposal template in the Field Mobile App

Note: Office setup is required to use proposal templates. Please contact the account administrator on your team.

To add estimate options from a proposal template:

Open your job and:
- If your default terminology is set to Residential, tap the Estimates tab.
- If your default terminology is set to Commercial, tap the Proposals tab.
If there are no estimates on the job, tap Add estimates from template.
If there are existing estimates on the job, tap From Template.
On the screen that opens, select the template you want to use.
Tip: After you select a template, you can see each included estimate option, price, and label.

Build a custom estimate in the Field Mobile App

Open your job and:
- If your default terminology is set to Residential, tap the Estimates tab.
- If your default terminology is set to Commercial, tap the Proposals tab.
If there are no estimates on the job, tap Add custom estimate.
If there are existing estimates on the job, tap Custom Estimate.
On the screen that opens, add one or more items to the estimate.
As you add items, they appear on the screen. When finished, tap Back to finish adding the estimate.
Note: If you’re building an estimate on a tablet, you can rearrange items quickly by long pressing and dragging them.

Create an estimate with the estimate builder
For HVAC replacement jobs, the estimate builder answers a short set of questions about the job and automatically generates a tiered (Good/Better/Best) proposal from your company's own Pricebook templates—so you don't have to search the Pricebook and assemble every line item by hand.
Note: This feature is currently in Private Preview and available for specific accounts. It is subject to change. If you want to enable this feature for your account, please contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM).
Open the job, then select Estimates for a residential job or Proposals for a commercial job.
Select Create from estimate builder.
Answer the guided questions about the job, such as the boiler type, heat distribution system, system condition, and electrical requirements.
Note: If the available options do not match the job, select None of these – switch to manual flow. You can then create the estimate from a template or build a custom estimate.
Select Build Proposal.
Review the generated options. Each tier—such as Good, Better, or Best—includes:
Equipment, materials, and services
Subtotal, tax, and total
Potential savings compared with other tiers, when available
Select Add to Proposal for each option you want to include.
(Optional) Select Add Add-ons to offer items such as a smart thermostat, filtration upgrade, air purifier, humidifier, or dehumidifier. Select the add-ons, then select Add.
Present the completed proposal to the customer as you would any other estimate.

Duplicate an already built estimate in the Field Mobile App

Open your job and:
- If your default terminology is set to Residential, tap the Estimates tab.
- If your default terminology is set to Commercial, tap the Proposals tab.
Tap the Copy icon next to the estimate you want to duplicate.
On the window that opens, tap Duplicate Estimate.This copies everything within the selected estimate and displays the estimate form.
