Update project statuses from the Field Mobile App to keep office and field teams aligned

Prev Next

This improvement lets field staff change project statuses directly in the Field Mobile App to ensure accurate tracking.

What's changing?

Previously, field staff had to call or email the office to update the status of a construction project. Now, they can view and change the status directly from the Project Details screen in the app. This allows the office to see progress in real time without manual data entry.

Resources

Before and After

Before (Current)

  1. A foreman finishes a project phase.

  2. They call the office to report that the work is ready for inspection.

  3. An office employee manually updates the project status in ServiceTitan.

Impact: Reporting delays and increased administrative work. Try the current workflow in your account.

After

  1. A foreman finishes a project phase.

  2. They open the Project Details screen in the Field Mobile App.

  3. They tap the status and select the new stage.

Impact: Instant visibility into project progress and fewer phone calls.

How it works for your industry

Residential Construction

  • A foreman marks a rough-in as Completed so the office knows to schedule the inspection immediately.

  • A technician changes the status to Hold directly from the site if materials are missing.

  • The project manager sees the status change instantly in the office and can invoice for the completed milestone.

Commercial Construction

  • A site supervisor updates the project to Ready for Billing after completing a specific phase.

  • Field staff update the status to Punch List when nearing project completion so the office can prepare final documents.

  • The office team views accurate progress reports without calling the field crew for updates.

How to Prepare?

  1. Identify which roles need the ability to change project statuses.

  2. Go to Settings > Permissions and enable the new Edit Project Status permission for those roles.

  3. Train your field staff on how to locate and change the status on the Project Details screen.

  4. Confirm that your project statuses and sub-statuses are set up correctly for field use.
