Recover more bookings with the Abandoned Lead SMS Recovery Automation

What's changing

Scheduling Pro can already send a follow up text to someone who starts your online scheduler, shares their contact details, then leaves without booking. That text carries a link that takes the person back to exactly where they left off. Until now, the switch for it lived inside Scheduler Details, so there was no single screen that showed whether the follow up was running or what it had brought in. With this enhancement, an Abandoned Lead SMS Recovery tile appears on the Automations screen. The tile shows whether the follow up is Active or Inactive, gives you a Manage link that takes you straight to the scheduler where you turn it on, and reports bookings recovered in the last 30 days.

Workflow comparison — before & after

← Before
✓ After
1.Go to Scheduling Pro and open Scheduler Details.
1.Go to Automations in the main navigation menu.
2.Look through the scheduler settings for the SMS follow up option.
2.Find the Abandoned Lead SMS Recovery tile and check whether it shows Active or Inactive.
3.Turn the option on.
3.Click Manage to go straight to your Scheduling Pro scheduler.
4.Check your booking reports separately to work out whether the follow up texts brought anything back.
4.Turn on SMS follow up using scheduler link and choose a send delay of 5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes.
5.Go back to the Automations screen. The tile shows Active, along with the bookings recovered in the last 30 days.
⚠ Follow up texts that could win back a booking stay switched off, because nothing shows you at a glance whether they are running.
✓ You can tell in one look whether your follow up texts are running, switch them on in a few clicks, and see how many bookings they brought back.

How it works for your industry

Residential Service and Replacement
  • A homeowner starts your scheduler at 9pm to book a no heat call, gets distracted, and never finishes. A short message service (SMS) follow up goes out a few minutes later with a link that returns them to the booking they started.
  • Your marketing manager opens the Automations screen on Monday morning and sees the tile reading Inactive, so the follow up gets switched on before the week's lead spend goes out.
  • At the end of the month, the tile shows how many tune up bookings came back through the follow up text, so you can weigh that against what you spent on the ads that drove those leads.
Commercial Service and Replacement
  • A facilities contact begins booking a rooftop unit (RTU) service call, gets pulled into a meeting, and drops off. The follow up text gives them a link back to the request rather than making them start again.
  • Your office manager checks the Automations screen and confirms the follow up is Active before a seasonal maintenance push begins.
  • The recovered bookings figure on the tile shows how much repeat service work the follow up brought back over the last 30 days.
Residential Construction
  • A homeowner planning a remodel starts a consultation request on your scheduler, then leaves to check dates with a partner. The follow up text brings them back to the same request.
  • Your sales coordinator uses the Automations screen to confirm the follow up is running during a busy bidding period.
  • The tile shows how many consultation bookings the follow up recovered, so you can see what the abandoned requests were worth.
Commercial Construction
  • A project contact starts a site visit request, gets interrupted, and does not finish. The follow up text returns them to the request with their details already filled in.
  • Your estimating team checks the Automations screen to confirm the follow up is switched on before a bid deadline.
  • The recovered bookings figure shows how many site visits came back through the follow up over the last 30 days.

How to prepare

01
To learn more about Automations and request it for your account, see Install and configure Automations
02
Have an administrator reach out to Support or your CSM to have Automations, Scheduling Pro Premium, and any prerequisite configurations enabled.
03
Check who can act on the tile. View Automations Page is an existing Automations permission and is on for all roles. Manage Automations (Enable/Disable/Configure) is an existing Automations permission that controls who can turn an automation on, and it is off for every role except Owner and Admin. Give it to anyone you expect to manage this follow up.
04
Confirm your Scheduling Pro scheduler is set up and decide on a send delay of 5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes, so the follow up text lands while the person is still thinking about the job.
05
Agree who reviews the recovered bookings figure each month and how that feeds into your lead spend decisions.
