Improve Pricebook Connect Matching Algorithm to cut pricebook mapping time

Prev Next

This improvement replaces the current Pricebook Connect matching engine with a faster algorithm that finds more accurate matches between your pricebook and supplier catalogs.

What's changing?

Before, the matching engine that connects your ServiceTitan pricebook to supplier catalogs and Centralized Pricebooks could run for a long time and still miss many items. That meant more manual review and hand-matching by your pricebook team. With this improvement, Pricebook Connect uses a new matching algorithm that processes large catalogs faster and returns more accurate suggestions. You keep the same screens and steps, but you spend less time waiting on matches and cleaning them up.

Resources

Before and After

Before (Current)

  1. Go to ServiceTitan and open Pricebook Connect.

  2. Select a supplier catalog or Centralized Pricebook to match your pricebook.

  3. Start the match process and wait while the job runs in the background.

  4. Review suggested matches, then manually map many unmatched item codes.

  5. Re-run or extend the job when you notice missed or incorrect matches.

Impact: Longer runs on large catalogs, more manual mapping work, and higher risk of wrong costs on jobs.

After

  1. Go to ServiceTitan and open Pricebook Connect.

  2. Select a supplier catalog or Centralized Pricebook to match to your pricebook.

  3. Start the match process; the new engine runs faster on large catalogs.

  4. Review suggested matches, now with more items matched on the first pass.

  5. Spend more time spot-checking and less time hand-mapping item codes.

Impact: Shorter wait times, more accurate matches, and more reliable costs across jobs and estimates.

Residential Service and Replacement

  • Match your HVAC, plumbing, and electrical pricebook items to supplier catalogs faster so you can refresh prices more often.

  • Reduce manual mapping when you bring in a new Ferguson catalog or change preferred vendors.

  • Keep repair and replacement pricing aligned with material costs so margins stay where you planned.

Commercial Service and Replacement

  • Speed through mapping large commercial catalogs so you can keep up with contract pricing changes.

  • Improve match quality for specialized commercial equipment so fewer items need manual review.

  • Help your service teams quote faster because pricebook items stay in sync with vendor catalogs.

Residential Construction

  • Map rough-in and finish materials from supplier catalogs to your construction pricebook with fewer misses.

  • Keep package and upgrade pricing current as material costs shift during the season.

  • Support estimating teams with more accurate base costs on common build materials.

Commercial Construction

  • Handle very large construction catalogs with shorter matching runs and better auto-matches.

  • Keep project bid templates aligned with vendor costs so change orders are based on current pricing.

  • Cut down on manual cleanup when you add new product lines or switch suppliers mid-project.

How to Prepare?

  1. Identify who owns pricebook maintenance and supplier catalog mapping in your office.

  2. Confirm that team members know where to run matches in Pricebook Connect and how to review results.

  3. Plan a time after the release to re-run matches on key supplier catalogs so you can benefit from the improved engine.

  4. Ask managers to watch job costs and margins on a few sample jobs after the first re-maps and confirm they look correct.

  5. Train technicians and sales staff to rely on ServiceTitan pricing during quotes, since catalog matches and costs will be more accurate.
