This improvement helps enforce minimum sales margins during estimate creation, ensuring every estimate meets company profit goals.
What’s changing with Margin Enforcement?
Before, sales representatives could send or sell estimates even when the projected margin fell below acceptable thresholds. With Margin Enforcement, you can now set a minimum margin percentage in Settings. When estimates fall below that margin, a warning message appears in ServiceTitan and the Field Mobile App. This change ensures pricing aligns with company margin policies before approval or sale.
Before and After
Before (Current)
Open the estimate in ServiceTitan.
On the Estimate screen, add items to build the estimate.
Set prices for the items and sell the estimate.
Impact: Sales reps may send underpriced estimates, hurting profits.
Try the current workflow in your account.
Note: From Search > Estimate, open any previous estimate and review the Margin in the Price total panel.
After
To set it up:
Go to Settings > Estimates > Sales Margin Control.
Enter the minimum margin in Global Minimum Margin %.
Define margins for specific roles in the Role-Based Rules section.
To use it:
Open the estimate in ServiceTitan.
On the Estimate screen, add items to build the estimate.
Set prices for the items in the estimate.
Review the Gross Margin in the Price total panel to see how close you are to the minimum margin.
If it meets or exceeds the minimum limit, sell your estimate.
If it falls below the minimum limit, a warning banner appears. Adjust the estimate to meet the requirements for minimum margin to sell it.
Impact: Estimates below margin cannot proceed without adjustment or override, protecting profitability.

How it works for your industry
Residential Service and Replacement
A technician quotes a water heater job. If the margin is below 25%, a warning prevents submission.
A sales rep adds a discount to win a deal. If the margin falls short, they must revise before saving.
A manager reviews a batch of estimates and sees which need price changes to meet margin rules.
Residential Construction
A project coordinator prepares an estimate for a remodel. The margin control stops it from being sent if it’s below 20%.
Margin settings help enforce standardized pricing across multiple construction jobs.
Field sales can’t submit an underpriced project estimate, avoiding inconsistent pricing practices.
How to Prepare
