Deactivate and reactivate measurements to keep your measurement data accurate

Prev Next

This improvement lets you deactivate incorrect or outdated measurements on job and location records so only accurate data appears in estimates and reporting.

What's changing?

Previously, there was no way to remove erroneous measurements from a job or location record without permanently deleting the measurement history. If a measurement order returned inaccurate data or was placed in error, the record stayed visible in the measurements table and could be used in estimates. Now, you can deactivate a measurement directly from the ellipsis menu on any active measurement row. Deactivated measurements are preserved for historical reference but hidden by default and excluded from new estimates. You can also reactivate a measurement if you need it again.

Resources

Before and After

Before (Current)

  1. Go to a job or location record and open the measurements table.

  2. Notice an incorrect or duplicate measurement in the list.

  3. The measurement remains visible in the table with no option to remove it.

  4. The inaccurate measurement data can be selected when building estimates.

Impact: Inaccurate measurement records clutter the measurements table and risk being used in estimates, leading to incorrect material calculations and pricing errors.

After

  1. Go to a job or location record and scroll down to the measurements table.

  2. Click the Actions menu on the incorrect measurement row and select Deactivate.

  3. The measurement status changes to inactive and the row disappears from the default Active filter view.

  4. Use the filter to switch between Active, Inactive, or All to review deactivated records at any time.

  5. To restore a measurement, change the filter to Inactive or All, click the Actions menu on the deactivated row, and select Reactivate.

Impact: Your measurements table shows only valid, active data by default. Inaccurate measurements are excluded from estimates while the full measurement history is preserved for reference.

Who uses this feature

  • Roofing and Exteriors

  • Administrators, Office employees

  • Region availability: USA, CAN

How it works for your industry

Roofing and Exteriors

  • A roofing estimator orders an EagleView measurement for a property but the report returns data for the wrong address. The estimator deactivates that measurement from the job record so it does not appear in the default table view or get used in the roof estimate.

  • A sales manager reviews a location record and finds two GAF QuickMeasure reports for the same property from different dates. The manager deactivates the older report so the crew references only the most current measurement data.

  • After completing a re-roof, an office administrator runs a report and notices a failed measurement order still showing on the job. The administrator deactivates the failed measurement to keep reporting data clean without losing the audit trail.

How to prepare?

  1. Have an administrator reach out to Support or your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to confirm the roofing measurement integrations configuration is enabled for your account.

  2. Identify which team members are responsible for reviewing and managing measurement records on job and location screens. Confirm they understand when to deactivate versus reactivate a measurement.

  3. Review existing job and location records for any incorrect or duplicate measurements. After the release, use the new deactivation feature to clean up those records.

  4. Bookmark any knowledge base articles or Academy videos for team training.
