Overview
The Field Mobile App includes a tablet-optimized layout for larger screens. The tablet layout introduces quick action buttons on job cards, a side menu for tab navigation, split-view sections, and an inline map so you can work more efficiently on a tablet.

Things to know
Tablet UI optimizations apply automatically when you use the Field Mobile App on a tablet. No setup or configuration is required.
The phone layout is unchanged. All tablet-specific layouts only appear on tablet-sized screens.
Best practices
Use quick action buttons on job cards to call customers, get directions, or start a chat without opening the job.
Use the side navigation to quickly jump between tabs without scrolling.
Expand split-view sections to full screen when you need to focus on a single item, then exit full screen to return to the list.
Note: At this time, split-view is only available on iOS devices.
Use cases
A technician on a tablet taps Directions directly on a job card to get driving directions without opening the job first.
A technician on a tablet opens a job and uses the side navigation to quickly switch between Forms, Notes, and the Invoice.
A technician reviews previous job history in a split view, browsing the job list on the left while reading details on the right.
Use the tablet-optimized Home screen in the Field Mobile App
On a tablet, the Home screen shows quick action buttons directly on each job card. These buttons let you take common actions without opening the job:
Open the Field Mobile App on your tablet.
On the Home screen, locate the job card you want to act on.
Tap one of the quick action buttons on the right side of the job card:
Directions: Opens the device's maps app with the job address.
Contact: Shows contact options or initiates a call to the customer.
Chat: Opens the two-way-chat for that job.

Tapping View All to see all jobs also allows you to take quick actions, as applicable.

Note: Quick action buttons are only visible on tablets. The phone layout is unchanged. The Contact button is hidden if no customer contact information exists for the job.
Use the side navigation on the Job Details screen in the Field Mobile App
On a tablet, the Job Details screen has a side navigation menu that replaces the tabs shown at the top on phones:
Open a job from the Home screen or All Jobs list.
On the Job Details screen that opens, tap any tab icon in the sidebar to jump directly to that tab.

Note: Action buttons for Contact, Directions, and Ask Atlas appear on the right side of the top header on tablets.
Use split-view sections in the Field Mobile App
Note: At this time, split-view is only available on iOS devices.
On a tablet, certain sections open in a split-view layout so you can browse a list on the left and view content on the right:
Open a job and go to one of the following areas to see the split-view layout:
Job > Pinned Notes > View All
Location Info > All Jobs > View All
Location Info > Previous Opportunities > View All
Location Info > Recurring Services > View All
Forms > View All
Projects
In the split view, tap an item in the left panel to view its full content in the right panel.

To collapse the left list panel and give more space to the content, tap the Collapse
icon.To expand to full-screen mode, tap the Expand
icon. To collapse full-screen mode and return to split view, tap the Collapse
icon.
Note: Both panels scroll independently.
Use the inline map on the Job Details screen in the Field Mobile App
On a tablet, the Job Details screen shows an automatic route preview in the Location section:
Open a job from the Home screen or All Jobs list.
Scroll to the Location section on the Job Details screen.
View the inline map showing the job location and route preview.

Tap the map or Get Directions to open the full route in your device's maps app.
