Overview
Document Management Collaboration Commenting lets office employees and field technicians leave comments, reply to threads, and mention teammates directly on project files. Conversations appear in real time in the Communication Hub and within annotation mode on the file, keeping the office and field in sync.

This feature is currently in Early Access and available for specific accounts. It is subject to change.
Before you begin
Confirm that the following are in place before using this feature:
Document Management is enabled on your account, with files attached to projects or jobs associated with a project.
The Annotations feature is enabled on your account.
The Communications Hub feature is enabled on your account.
Field technicians are using the ServiceTitan Field Mobile App to view and respond to comments from the field. For more, see .
If any of these prerequisites are missing, contact your administrator to set them up before proceeding.
Things to know
Deleting an annotation element won't erase its conversation. The element becomes a note, keeping the discussion intact and accessible.
Add a comment to a project file
Open a project and go to the Documents section.
Click View all documents and folders.
Note: You can also click the file you want to comment on.
Select the file you want to comment on.
Click Manage Annotations.

Select an annotation tool and draw an element, such as a rectangle, on the area of the file you want to call out.
Click the element to open its comment thread.

Or, click Comments on the right panel.

Type your comment in the comment field.
To notify a specific teammate, type @ followed by their name and select them from the list.

Submit the comment.
ServiceTitan sends a real-time notification to any mentioned office employees and records the conversation in the Communication Hub as an internal chat.
Add a note
Use a note to leave a comment on a specific location without attaching it to a formal annotation shape.
Open the file and enter Annotation mode.
Click Annotate and select Note.

Click anywhere on the file to place the note.

Enter your comment text and submit.
Search, filter, and sort comments
Open a file in annotation mode.
Click the comment panel icon to open the panel.
Use the search field to find specific comments by keyword.
Use the filter and sort controls to organize comments by status, date, or other criteria.

Continue a conversation in the Communication Hub
Open the Communication Hub.
Locate the notification or internal chat associated with the file.

Click the chat to open the full thread.

Type your reply and send.
All replies appear both in the Communication Hub and within the comment thread on the file itself. The notification also includes a clickable link that takes you directly to the file where the comment was made from both the office and mobile experiences.
