Problem

You need to know how to mark time off for an office employee. You want to track it and remind others.

Solution

This process allows you to both track the time off in the employee's timesheet and create a task to remind others of the time off.

Setting Up Time Off in the Timesheet

  1. Click on your profile icon and then click Payroll.

  2. Select the employee you want to edit time off for.

  3. Click View Actions on the right side.

  4. Choose Edit Timesheet.

  5. On the new page, pick the specific date.

  6. Add a timesheet code for the time off.

  7. Enter the proper start and end time.

Creating a Reminder for Time Off

  1. Click on your profile icon and select Task Management.

  2. On the right side, click Add Task.

  3. Set up the task details as needed to remind others of the time off.

  4. In the Task Type field, create a new task called PTO ReminderTask management interface showing PTO reminder and related details.

  5. At the bottom, click Add a Subtask.

  6. Fill out the details of the subtask, and assign it to the employee who need a reminder. You may have to create multiple subtasks if more than one employee needs a reminder. Form for adding a subtask with fields for name, assignment, and due date.

  7. When you're finished, click Add Subtask.

  8. On the Add Task screen, when you're finished, click Add task.
