How to fix the PDF preview error in ServiceTitan

Problem

You may encounter an error when trying to preview a PDF document in ServiceTitan. The error message states: This browser does not support viewing PDFs in this manner. This issue can occur even with an up-to-date version of Google Chrome.

Solution

  1. Clear cache and cookies        

    1. Go to Settings in Chrome

    2. Select Privacy and Security

    3. Click Clear browsing data

    4. Choose Cached images and files and Cookies

    5. Click Clear data

    6. Refresh ServiceTitan and try again

  2. Disable browser extensions        

    1. Go to chrome://extensions/

    2. Turn off all extensions

    3. Refresh the page and try previewing

  3. Reset Chrome PDF settings        

    1. Go to chrome://settings/content/pdfDocuments

    2. Ensure Download PDFs is turned off

    3. Try previewing again

  4. Use Incognito Mode        

    1. Open an incognito window (Ctrl + Shift + N on Windows, Cmd + Shift + N on Mac)

    2. Log in to ServiceTitan

    3. Try viewing the document

  5. Check for conflicting PDF viewers        

    1. Disable any third-party PDF viewers

    2. Set Chrome as the default PDF handler

  6. Test on a different Chrome profile        

    1. Go to Settings > You and Google

    2. Add a new profile

    3. Log into ServiceTitan from the new profile

    4. Test the preview

  7. Try another device or user profile        

    1. Use a different computer or Chrome user profile

    2. Compare settings with a working setup
