Overview
This guide is for whoever is planning your company's move from legacy Field Pro to Field Pro v2. It covers how to tell which version you're on, why to move, what changes for each role, the decisions to make before you switch, and how the switch works.
Field Pro v2 is available, and moving to it requires a migration. Contact your Pro Product Specialist.
Who uses this guide
If you manage your company's Field Pro setup, read all of it.
If you're a manager, read the "What changes for managers" section of this article.
Technicians don't need this guide.
Which version of Field Pro am I on?
There are two one-look tests, one on the desktop and one in the app. Either settles it in seconds.
On the ServiceTitan desktop
Open the Field Pro section in the left navigation. If you see Manager Console, you're on Field Pro v2. If you don't, you're on legacy Field Pro.
In ST Field
On Field Pro v2, the ST Field home screen has a View Field Pro button near the top, above Today's schedule. On legacy Field Pro there's no View Field Pro button, and recording opens a separate Field Pro app.
If you're still unsure
Ask one question: do your technicians open a separate Field Pro app to record? If they do, you're on legacy Field Pro. On Field Pro v2 they record inside ST Field with their normal ServiceTitan sign-in.
The number one requirement: ST Field only
Before you set a date, make sure every technician who records uses the ServiceTitan Field app (ST Field), and only ST Field. A technician who switches back and forth between ST Field and the older ServiceTitan Mobile app will lose recordings. Confirm this with your technicians directly.
ST Field on every Job. Jobs worked in ServiceTitan Mobile aren't recorded or coached in Field Pro v2.
The latest version. Update ST Field to the latest version before you switch, and keep it updated. To check which app and version each technician is on, use the Mobile Device Console.
The regular sign-in. Technicians sign in with the Sign In button, not Use Legacy Login.
Only people who record need ST Field.
Why move
In legacy Field Pro, technicians record in a separate app with its own sign-in, and much of the review work happens in a separate legacy web app. Field Pro v2 puts all of it inside ServiceTitan.
The biggest differences at a glance:
Legacy Field Pro | Field Pro v2 | |
|---|---|---|
One app, one sign-in | Technicians record in a separate Field Pro app with its own sign-in | Everything happens in ST Field, with the sign-in technicians already use |
Recording on more than one device | Signing in on a second device signed out the first | Records on every device used on the job and keeps the best recording |
Scorecards by job type | One scorecard per team | One default recording profile, with the option to score by team or job type, applied to each recording automatically |
Recording controls | Limited control over pausing, stopping or canceling | You decide whether technicians can pause, stop or cancel, for the whole company or per technician |
Manager Console | Dashboards and reports to dig through | Suggested actions that show who to coach, who to praise and what to follow up on, with the call one click away |
Signal Watch | A behavior could only be tracked if it was on a scorecard | Watch any signal, including ones that aren't on your scorecard |
Live view | Nothing for managers until the call was processed | A live transcript and manager summary while the call is happening |
Where setup happens | Mostly in the separate legacy web app, often by your Pro Product Specialist | ServiceTitan Settings, where your admins can change signals and scorecards themselves |
What changes for technicians
The biggest change: everything a technician used to do in a second app now happens inside ST Field, and Atlas coaches them during the call instead of only after it.
Legacy Field Pro | Field Pro v2 |
|---|---|
Recording handled in, or handed off to, a separate Field Pro app | Recording runs inside ST Field |
Review meant going to the separate Field Pro app | Summaries, transcripts, scorecards, comments, follow-ups, playlists and the leaderboard are all in View Field Pro on the ST Field home screen |
Ask Field Pro (formerly Ask SalesPro) | Ask Atlas, including a Mid-Call Check-In that sums up the situation, the objections raised and what to do next, using your company's scorecard |
One recording device, or duplicate recordings | If a technician is signed in on more than one device, Field Pro keeps the recording that best captured the conversation and removes the others, so they don't affect scores |
What changes for managers
Managers get several new tools: Manager Console, Signal Watch, rebuilt Scorecards, technician profiles, a live view of jobs being recorded, Ask Atlas on every Field Pro page, and uploading recordings from Recordings > Upload Recording. Getting Started with Field Pro v2 explains each one and where it lives.
What stays the same: follow-ups and comments work much as they did.
After your switch, the legacy Field Pro pages inside ServiceTitan are no longer available. For now, you'll continue to have access to your legacy recordings in the legacy web app at fieldpro.servicetitan.com.
What this means for your plan: plan most of your training time for managers, especially on Manager Console.
What changes for setup and settings
Setup moves to the Field Pro Settings page. Getting Started with Field Pro v2 covers where it is and who can use it. A few features are turned on by ServiceTitan, such as Day in Review and Manager Insights Emails; ask your Pro Product Specialist.
During your switch, your Pro Product Specialist sets up your starting configuration for you.
Recording consent is one company-wide setting: either technicians see a consent prompt before recording starts, or they don't. Your Pro Product Specialist sets it to match what you use today. Tell them if you want to change it.
Your whole tenant moves at once
Field Pro v2 is turned on for your whole ServiceTitan tenant at once. From then on, everyone on that tenant who records does so with Field Pro v2 in ST Field. You can't keep some teams, business units or locations on legacy Field Pro within the same tenant, so your date, app readiness and training need to line up for everyone.
If your company runs more than one ServiceTitan tenant, each one moves separately. One tenant can be on Field Pro v2 while another stays on legacy Field Pro.
Plan on the move being permanent.
Decisions to make before you switch
Your Pro Product Specialist sets up your starting configuration from two answers:
Import your teams from legacy Field Pro? This brings across your teams, who's on them, and which teams your managers can see.
Import your scorecards from legacy Field Pro? This brings across your scorecards, with your bookmarks and AI metrics as signals.
Importing both is the simplest path. If you'd rather start fresh, you can begin with the Field Pro v2 default recording profile and signals and customize them from there.
Either way, review your setup after the switch; it doesn't appear in Field Pro v2 until then. A few details don't carry over exactly, such as scorecard color thresholds and individual weights within a scorecard section. Field Pro v2 also scores differently, so expect scores to differ from legacy.
Recent recordings
Your Pro Product Specialist can also bring over your recent legacy recordings: those from the 30 days before the import is turned on, plus new legacy recordings until it's turned off. They're reprocessed in Field Pro v2, so they get fresh transcripts, scores and coaching under your new setup and you have data to work with from the start. This is optional. Some recordings may not come across; raise any gaps with your specialist.
What you can change later
You can change everything yourself after the switch. Imported teams and scorecards take a bit more work to change than starting fresh, so decide before you import. Recording controls, the time Day in Review is prepared, Mid-Call Check-In and individual signals are easy to adjust anytime.
If you don't know who your Pro Product Specialist is, contact your Customer Success Manager.
How the switch works
Confirm readiness. Every technician who records uses ST Field only, on the latest version (see "The number one requirement: ST Field only" above). You've answered the decisions above.
Review your setup. Your Pro Product Specialist sets up your teams, access, recording profiles and scorecards. You'll review them after the switch, since they don't appear in Field Pro v2 until then.
Agree a switch date. Your specialist agrees the date with you. Everyone who records moves that day.
On switch day, technicians: start recording in ST Field automatically; there's nothing to turn on. They need the latest version of ST Field and must sign in with the Sign In button, not Use Legacy Login. They can uninstall the legacy Field Pro app if they want, though keeping it for now can help them look back at older recordings.
Check team access. In Field Pro settings, make sure every technician has a team, and check who can see which teams' recordings. After an imported setup, technicians are placed on their team but can't see teammates' recordings unless you give them access. Anyone who was an admin in legacy Field Pro can see every team's recordings, so remove that access from anyone who shouldn't have it.
Train your team. Keep it light for recording. Spend the real time with managers on Manager Console, and with technicians on reviewing their own recordings and chatting with Atlas.
Tune as you go. Once you have real scores, adjust the signals that aren't scoring the way you expect. Bring in your specialist when you want help.
