Enable meal break reminders for technicians

Overview

Meal Break Reminders let you set a daily work-hour limit so technicians get a notification when it’s time for a break. Configure the threshold for when reminders appear, allow technicians to start or waive their break directly in the app, and automatically log waived breaks in the Break Reminders Report for easy tracking and compliance.

Things to know

  • This feature is only available with the Field Mobile App. You can see the reminders for technicians using the Field Mobile App. 

  • Flexible Timekeeping is required to use meal break reminders.

  • The meal break reminder feature has the following default settings:

    • Meal Break Reminders: Enabled

    • Allow Break Waiver: Enabled

    • Hours Before Reminder Appears: 6 hours

  • These are the settings restored when you click Reset.

Enable meal break reminders

  1. Go to the top toolbar and click SettingsA simple icon representing a settings gear. .

  2. In the side panel, go to People > Payroll.

  3. On the Payroll Settings screen that opens, click Edit next to the Meal Break Reminders.

  4. The Meal Break Reminder screen opens with default settings already applied. 

  5. Click the Enable Meal Break Reminders toggle to enable or disable meal break reminders.

  6. Under Show After Hours Worked, set how many hours a technician can work before the break reminder appears.

  7. Click Allow Break Waiver toggle to enable or disable users to waive the break.

    Note: If a technician waives the break, the action is logged in the Break Reminders Report.

  8. When finished, click Save

Tip: Click Reset to revert any changes and restore the default settings.
