This article helps you understand how decline codes work and how you can resolve them when a credit card charge is declined. Below is a list of possible error codes and necessary steps to complete the payment.

Error code | Description | Next Steps |

Credit card with keyPGT:CC_____ not found. | The charge isn't successful. | Try again. If the issue persists, contact payment support at paymentsupport@servicetitan.com. |
Do Not Honor | The card is declined for an unknown reason. | The customer needs to contact their card issuer for more information. |
Duplicate Transaction | The card and credentials were used in an earlier transaction with the same amount as the new transaction. This causes the system to flag the new transaction as a duplicate. | Update the newer payment to a different amount and try to collect again. For example, you can add $0.01 more to the newer payment so the amount is different from the earlier transaction. |
Exceeds withdrawal limit | The customer has exceeded the balance or credit limit available on their card. | The customer needs to use an alternative payment method. |
Expired card | The card has expired. | The customer needs to use an alternative payment method. |
Fraudulent card | The customer's bank suspects fraud. | The customer needs to contact their card issuer for more information. |
General Error | The card is declined for an unknown reason. | Try again. If the error persists, request your customer to call the card issuer for more information or use an alternative payment method. |
Insufficient funds | The card has insufficient funds to complete the purchase. | The customer needs to use an alternative payment method. |
Invalid card security code | The customer has entered an invalid security code or made a typo in their card information. | Try again. If the error persists, request your customer to call the card issuer for more information or use an alternative payment method. |
Invalid Credit Card Number | The credit card number entered doesn't exist. | The customer needs to try again and use the correct credit card number. |
Invalid CVV | The CVV number is incorrect. | The customer needs to try again and use the correct CVV. |
Invalid expiration date | The customer has entered an invalid payment method or made a typo in their card expiration date. | Ask the customer to correct their payment information and attempt the transaction again. If the decline persists, they need to contact their card issuer. |
Invalid PIN | Invalid PIN or missing PIN. Some cards always require a PIN. | The customer needs to try again and use the correct PIN. |
Lost card | The payment is declined because the card is reported lost. | The customer needs to contact their card issuer for more information. |
No card number on file with issuer | This decline code indicates that the submitted card number doesn't correlate to an existing card-issuing bank or there is a connectivity error with the issuer. | The customer needs to contact their card issuer for more information. |
No such card issuer | The submitted card number doesn't correlate to an existing card-issuing bank or there is a connectivity error with the issuer. | The customer needs to contact their card issuer for more information. |
Over limit | The attempted transaction exceeds the withdrawal limit of the account. | The customer needs to contact their card issuer or use an alternative payment method. |
Pick up card | The customer can't use this card to make this payment. Maybe it is reported lost or stolen. | The customer needs to contact their card issuer for more information. |
Security Violation | The card is declined for an unknown reason. | The customer needs to contact their card issuer for more information. |
Stolen card | The payment is declined because the card is reported stolen. | The customer needs to contact their card issuer for more information. |
Transaction not allowed | The customer's bank declines the transaction for unspecified reasons, maybe due to an issue with the card itself. | The customer needs to contact their card issuer for more information or use an alternative payment method. |
