Overview
After you set up different units of measure (UoM) for one item, you can use them during transactions such as purchasing, transfers, and adjustments. For more, see Purchase orders in Purchasing module, or Adjustments and Transfers in Inventory module. You can also send purchase orders for UoM-enabled items directly from the Requisition screen. For more, see Inventory Requisition in Purchasing module.

Utilize a unit of measure for a transaction
Go to the navigation bar and click Inventory
.In the side menu, click Purchase Orders, Transfers, or Adjustments.
On the screen that opens, click Create New.

On the Create Purchase order screen opens, fill out the information.
In the Item List table, use the item code, description, or vendor part number to find the items you want to add to the PO.
Under the Qty column, click Expand to select the unit of measure you want to use to purchase this item and continue the process of the transaction.
Note: In the list, you can see the units of measure you set up for that item.

You can use any unit of measurement for the items you purchase, but in the inventory stock, the quantity of the item is updated and stored with the base unit of measurement. For more, see Inventory Overview in Inventory module.
