Overview
Return Types allows you to track returns through their cycle and accurately record the information in ServiceTitan Purchasing and Inventory modules.

Note: If these instructions don't work for you, you may still be using the previous version of this feature. See Create a return for more information about that version.
Things to know
If you only have the Purchasing module enabled, the Inventory section under Settings is renamed Purchasing.
Now you can create returns, send returns to the vendor, mark returns as approved, and returned. Additionally, you can email returns to the vendors. For more information, see Returns overview.
You can process returns if the quantity from procurement and all invoices is greater than the quantity you want to return.
Create a return type
Go to the top toolbar and click Settings
.From the side menu, select Purchasing or Inventory > Return Types. The Return Types screen opens.

Note: You can organize the table by clicking on a column header. You can also filter return types by Return Type Name, or Active and Inactive returns. To apply a filter, click the Filter
icon and select the filter type you want. To remove the filter, click Clear.
Click Add to create a new return type. The Add a Return Type screen opens.
Enter Return Type Name.
Select the Automatically Receive Vendor Credit option.
Note: If you select this option the Return will be moved to Credit Received upon creation. Also, Vendor Credit will be automatically generated for the total quantity on Return.
Select Include return Total in the Sales Tax Calculation if you want the Return Total to be considered taxable.
Note: If you select this option, the tax amount on the Return will be removed from the job total on the associated invoice.
Select the Active option if you want the new return type to be active.
Select the Default option if you want the new return type to be the default.
When you're finished, click Create.
