Why can't I see membership add-on tasks when I'm trying to add them to a Mobile invoice?
Technicians can't add add-on tasks to the general invoice in Mobile. A technician should add a parent membership sale or renewal task to the invoice first. After adding the parent membership task, they can click the parent item. When a new window opens, they should click + Sub-Item and find the add-on task from there.
Why can't I see any membership add-on tasks when I'm trying to use them on an invoice in ServiceTitan?
Membership add-ons can't be added to an invoice as a regular task. Similar to the mobile invoice, a parent membership sale or renewal task needs to be added first. After there's a membership sale or renewal task on the invoice, add-on tasks become searchable and can be added, with the initial membership task selected as the parent item.
Is there a way to show individual line item pricing for each add-on when I'm viewing the print invoice?
No, the print invoice always shows the one price that includes both the parent membership task and the add-on task. If the customer wants to see individual pricing for the add-on tasks as well, the line item breakdown can be added to the task description or invoice summary.
For Deferred Revenue memberships, can I add the positive and negative tasks to the Recurring Service invoice template by the Pricebook Add additional tasks to the __ recurring service invoice template add-on workflow?
No, the Add additional tasks to the __ recurring service invoice template workflow can't be used with Deferred Revenue membership add-ons. If it's set up that way, auto-calculation for the invoice tasks won't happen when the membership is sold.
The tasks can instead be set up in the Recurring Service type settings. Instead of selecting Add additional tasks to the __ recurring service invoice template, you can select the Add new __ recurring service option. After that, choose the Recurring Service type that has the positive or negative invoice tasks saved.
How can I adjust or partially refund a deferred revenue membership bundle sale if the customer decides they don't want the add-ons after the invoice is already exported?
Add a miscellaneous non-membership-workflow task that is tied to a liability General Ledger Account (GLA) with a negative price of the refund amount to an adjustment invoice. For instance, if you have a general negative deferred revenue task that you use on recurring service invoice templates, you can use that, since it's linked to the same General Ledger Account as the original membership sale task.
Edit the customer's membership and put the negative refund amount in the Initial Deferred Revenue box so that their revenue recognition table updates the deferred balance.
Edit the positive and negative tasks on the customer's recurring service invoice templates to reflect the changes as well. For example, if the customer has originally bought a deferred membership with two recurring services at 50/50 allocation for $500 and then has been refunded $100, you should enter '-100' in the customer's Initial Deferred Revenue box and then edit the invoice templates for both recurring services to have $-200/$200 deferred or realized tasks.
How can technicians sell add-ons to edit existing memberships?
Add-ons can only be added to memberships at the time of sale. There's no direct way for a technician to sell add-ons for existing memberships. As a workaround, technicians can sell a non-workflow task in ServiceTitan Mobile to represent the add-on, then an office user can manually make the changes they want in the customer's membership.
Why does a membership renewal invoice include the add-on from the original sale?
If you haven't enabled membership configurations, add-on tasks sold with the parent membership sale task by default will copy over the renewal invoice. This helps perpetuate any custom membership setups when renewing.
Note: The price of the add-on is determined by the current price of the task in Pricebook and not by the price of the add-on from the original sale invoice. Upon renewal, if the customer no longer needs the add-on, it can be deleted from the renewal invoice and the next renewal will no longer include the add-on that was removed.
Why are add-ons automatically created when I add a new sale membership to an invoice for a customer that has never had a membership with us before?
Add-ons being automatically added to invoices with new membership sales is related to the Enable Pre-bundled Memberships configuration. If this configuration is ON, and a task is added to the Recommendations section of a membership sales task in Pricebook, that task will automatically be added to the membership sales task when it's added to the invoice.
Note: This should not be confused with add-ons that are automatically added to renewal invoices since they are unrelated.
Why can't I delete the recurring service with the Delete icon on the customer's Edit Membership page?
If you click the Delete icon and it doesn't delete the recurring service, this means the Recurring Service has been generated by an add-on task that has a workflow to add a recurring service to the membership. These can't be deleted by clicking Delete. Instead, you can delete the add-on task from the invoice it was sold on if it's still in Pending status.
If the invoice has been exported:
Go to the customer's membership profile.
Click the recurring service.
Scroll down to the bottom.
Click Deactivate.
