Things to know

  • The Chemicals section only appears on a job once you've added at least one chemical from the Pricebook.

  • Chemical Quantity is calculated automatically from Solution Applied and Dilution. You can't edit it directly — it's always Solution Applied × Dilution.

  • To track chemical Lots, your office must use the Purchasing module and configure lots there.

  • Applicator name, license number, and application timestamp are automatically recorded based on the first technician to arrive at the job. These details can’t be edited in the Field Mobile App.

  • If you've logged this chemical at this location before, select it under Previously Used to prefill most fields — you'll only need to confirm the amount applied.

  • The Field Mobile App doesn’t deduct chemical inventory when you log an application. Chemical Quantity is used for billing only and uses the unit of measure configured in the chemical’s Pricebook Inventory Settings.

Best practices

  • Use the On Your Truck filter to find your chemical faster. When the filter is active, the app shows the truck it recognizes as yours. If you’re borrowing a different truck, or need a chemical that isn’t loaded on the displayed truck, clear the filter.

  • Use Previously Used at the top of the chemical picker before searching the full catalog—it shows chemicals you've logged at this location before.

  • Confirm your license information are up to date in your profile before starting a job that needs chemical tracking — several fields pull from there automatically.

  • Complete all required chemical fields before closeout. Job closeout is blocked until every logged chemical has its required fields filled in.

Use cases

  • A pest control technician treats a home for fire ants and logs the Cypermethrin EC application, including solution applied, dilution, and target pest, before moving to the next stop.

  • A technician working without a signal in a basement or crawl space enters a full chemical application offline. The entry syncs automatically once the device reconnects.

  • A technician returns to a property treated last month and reselects the same chemical from Previously Used instead of re-entering every field.
