How to edit a task on an invoice that has already been exported?

Problem

Once an invoice is exported, the option to edit tasks directly on the invoice disappears. Users cannot modify task details on exported invoices.

Solution

Once an invoice is exported from ServiceTitan, it's locked for editing. This includes tasks associated with the invoice.

Note: Creating an adjustment invoice is the way to modify task details on an invoice that has been exported. This process ensures your records stay accurate and up to date.

Edit exported invoice

  1. Go to the original invoice in ServiceTitan. Note the details of the task you want to edit.

  2. Click Add an adjustment invoice.

  3. At the popup, click Ok.

  4. On the adjustment invoice, you can choose to add a task, payment, material, or equipment.
    Note: Adjustment invoices are marked with a blue banner that links you to the original invoice.

  5. Add the task to the new invoice with the changes you want.

  6. Ensure to double-check the details of the new task on the adjustment invoice. Ensure it accurately reflects the changes you intended.

Note: To remove an item from an exported invoice, add a negative quantity of that invoice item in the adjustment invoice. The invoice item will still appear on the original invoice, but the negative quantity will be listed in the adjustment invoice section, with any financial impact reflected in the invoice balance on the printed version.
