Delete a payment that cannot be edited or unapplied

Problem

Sometimes, you might find a payment that you can't edit, unapply, or delete on an invoice. This happens when there's no edit pencil icon available, and the payment seems stuck.

Solution

  1. Search for and go to the customer profile where the payment was made.

  2. In the side menu, click Payments to view all payments linked to this profile.

  3. Find the payment you want to delete. Use the payment ID to locate it if necessary.

  4. On the payment you want to delete, click Actions > Delete Payment.

  5. If the option to delete the payment is still grayed out or not available on the customer profile, please contact ServiceTitan technical support.

Note: If the invoice linked to the payment is in a Posted or Exported status, you won't be able to delete the payment from the invoice page. This is because the invoice has been exported to your accounting software.
