Overview
Journal Entries in ServiceTitan, you can manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and payroll as a subledger. While ServiceTitan handles your core activities, you can integrate your general ledger for financial reporting and tasks like managing equity and loans payable.
This guide describes how to use the Journal Entries and Auto-Batching settings screen to set up your Journal Entries configurations.

The View journal entry landing page is required to use this feature. Please contact the account administrator on your team.
Things to know
To view the Journal Entries screen, you need to have the View journal entry landing page permission enabled.
Make sure all your General Ledger Accounts are set up and properly assigned in ServiceTitan to avoid Journal Entry errors.

If you use the Journal Entry accounting integration, you can view the individual and total costs of items on Inventory Adjustments by enabling the View Adjustment $ Value permission. This feature provides valuable insights into the costs associated with each Inventory Adjustment and allows you to make informed decisions while managing your inventory.
You can restrict access to the individual and total costs of items on adjustments.
Manually updating the average cost within the Pricebook is restricted. This guarantees that ServiceTitan accurately calculates and maintains cost information.
Set up journal entries
The Journal Entries and Auto-Batching settings screen lets you configure your Journal Entries settings such as cadence, export type, and if you want transactions to be grouped by payment type and business unit. If you are using journal entries for the first time, the settings in this screen are set to the default options.
Note: When you adjust the settings on this screen, the changes take effect going forward and do not apply retroactively.
Go to the navigation bar and click Settings
.In the side panel, go to Accounting > Journal Entries and Auto-Batching.
On the Journal Entries and Auto-Batching settings screen that opens, configure the transaction cadences and export settings for journal entries:
Export Type: Select how the journal entry for that transaction type will be exported. For more on the different types you can choose, see Export types.
Journal Entry Cadence: Select how often transactions are grouped into journal entries.
Auto Export Frequency: Select whether you want journal entries automatically exported and updated in real time or manually exported and updated.
Batch Cadence: Select whether you want batches created automatically on a schedule or if you want to create matches manually.
Separate by Business Unit: Select this option if you want to separate journal entries by business unit.
Separate by Payment Type: Select this option if you want to separate journal entries by payment type. This only applies to Payments (Invoices) and Applied Payments transaction types.

Repeat step 3 for each transaction type.
If you are using Touchless Integration, go to the Journal Entry Settings section:
Select an Auto-Export Start Date. This is the date when your journal entries will start being automatically exported.
Select Group journal entries by cadence and export type if you want to create single journal entries for transaction types on the same cadence and export type. For example, if Invoice and Bills transaction types are set to Daily and Journal Entry Summary, both transaction types will be in one journal entry.
Note: The Touchless Integration feature is only available for Intacct and QuickBooks Online.

Configure auto-export for Touchless Integration
If you are using Touchless Integration:
On the Journal Entries and Auto-Batching screen, go to the Journal Entry Settings section.
Select an Auto-Export Start Date. This is the date when your journal entries will start being automatically exported.
Note: You will not be able to manually sync journal entries if they are set before the date specified here.
Select Group journal entries by cadence and export type if you want to create single journal entries for transaction types on the same cadence and export type. For example, if Invoice and Bills transaction types are set to Daily and Journal Entry Summary, both transaction types will be in one journal entry.
Note: The Touchless Integration feature is only available for Intacct, QuickBooks Online, and Xero.
