Book a Technician-Generated Lead job from an existing job

Overview

If a technician on a job convinces a customer to book additional services, they can be credited for a Technician-Generated Lead (TGL) on the new job record. You can track TGLs in reports and set up bonuses to incentivize your technicians to generate new business.

If you’ve set recall, warranty, and lead guides, you can book a new job as a Technician-Generated Lead (TGL).

Book a Technician-Generated Lead job from an existing job

Create a Technician-Generated Lead (TGL) from an existing job. When you create the TGL, you book a new job that credits the technician assigned to the existing job with the TGL.

  1. Search for and open the job record you want to create a lead from.

  2. Click the Job Actions dropdown and select Lead.
    Create Lead opens.

  3. Add details for the new job.

    Note: The new job uses customer and service location details from the existing job.

  4. Use the Lead-Setting Employee dropdown to select the technician who generated the lead.

  5. When you’re finished, click Book.

  6. The job opens, and is automatically set as a Lead in the Job Summary.
    Assign, dispatch, and complete the job as normal.

    Tip: Click the Lead indicator in the Job Summary to see the original job.

Mark an existing job as a Technician-Generated Lead

If a technician was not credited for a Technician-Generated Lead (TGL) on a job, you can edit the job to credit them:

  1. Search for and open the job record.

  2. Click Edit .
    Edit Job opens.

  3. Select Lead from another job.

  4. In the Lead Generated From field, enter the job number for the job where the technician generated the lead.

  5. Click the Lead generated by dropdown and select the technician who generated the lead.

  6. When finished, click Save.
